After a white passenger felt "uncomfortable" with her presence, a Muslim woman was forcibly removed from her flight - and today, she has come forward with her own account of the blatant discrimination she endured.

Evidently, islamophobia is still rife here in the United States.

The discrimination against believers of the Islamic faith has raged on in this country for years now but, sadly, it is still happening today in 2020.

But the latest example of our country's Islamophobia has managed to go viral.

Twenty-eight-year-old Muslim Girl founder and blogger, Amani Al-Khatahtbeh took to Twitter on Saturday to document her experience after a man took exception to her after a tense interaction while they were standing in line for airport security.

Her story makes for a difficult read...

And opinions were divided when she revealed that she was eventually removed from her flight as a result of another passenger's disdain.

Sadly, this kind of treatment won't come as a huge shock to many of us...

Because, as previously stated, islamophobia has raged on for years here in the United States.

Many are quick to blame President Trump for the surge in hate crimes and discriminative behavior against the Islamic community.

As a presidential candidate, Trump frequently used anti-Muslim rhetoric, saying things like, “I think Islam hates us," and suggesting that he was not opposed to the idea of a Muslim database.

And, after taking office, he signed an executive order barring people from several Muslim-majority countries from entering the US.

On top of that, he has appointed people who have supported anti-Muslim views to key Cabinet positions, and he’s even circulated anti-Muslim videos to his tens of millions of Twitter followers.

Yeah, his track record isn't great.

But many experts - Khaled Beydoun, a law professor and author of American Islamophobia: Understanding the Roots and Rise of Fear, included - believe that Islamophobia has much older roots in our country's history.

Clearly, Trump's loss during the 2020 election isn't going to make Islamophobia magically disappear.

We have a long way to go, and the latest example of Islamic discrimination proves just that.

Amani Al-Khatahtbeh took a stand against her recent experience with alleged islamophobia by showcasing it to the world via Twitter.

The congressional candidate detailed how a man had taken exception to her after a tense interaction while they were at security in Newark Airport, NJ, and how she was eventually removed from her flight through no fault of her own.

Understandably, people have been left totally outraged by her story...

However, some people are a little confused by Amani's story.

Let's take a look at what she had to say.

Writing to her 29,000 followers, Amani explained: "I had the craziest experience in TSA this morning. An entitled white man behind me insisted on cutting me in line because I was 'still taking my shoes off.' When I said he could wait like everyone else, he started going off about how he’s 'pre-check' and 'first-class.'"

She claims that his behavior escalated...

And that the TSA did nothing. "He then proceeded to not only shove his things before mine but then RUN THROUGH THE MACHINE and TSA did NOTHING! Not only did they not do anything, a TSA officer had the audacity to tell ME to 'cut it out.'"

Amani pointed out that, if she were the one to create a scene, the consequences would be much more severe.

"Y’all know if I, a VEILED MUSLIM WOMAN, had the audacity to throw a temper tantrum and run through TSA security, I would have gotten BODIED. I would have been detained, missed my flight, possibly gotten charged, etc."

She then provided a crucial update...

Upon boarding her flight, she had been asked to leave the aircraft.

In a follow-up post, she explained that the man in question had complained about her to an airline agent...

And then shared a clip that appeared to show a man wearing an American Airlines yellow high-vis vest attempting to remove her from the flight. The worker can be heard stating: "The captain asked me, as a manager, for me to remove you from the aircraft because there's a passenger on board who doesn't feel comfortable with you being here."

An American Airlines spokesperson told Insider:

"We are working with local law enforcement and have requested video footage from Terminal A and security. We take this issue seriously and our team is working as fast as possible to understand what occurred. We have reached out to CAIR NJ to brief them on our investigation." What do you think?
