A special moment caught on camera between a mom and gorilla bonding over their babies has left the internet in awe after being shared online...
Motherly love is a universal feeling.
That maternal instinct transcends humans and animals alike.
Becoming a mom is a feeling like no other.
Which is why many new moms often bond over their babies...
But one new mom had quite the surprise recently after she visited a zoo and formed a bond with a mother gorilla.
With them both holding up their babies for each other to see.
Fortunately, the magic moment was captured on video...
And after it was posted online, people have been touched by the special moment...
Emmelina Austin was visiting Franklin Park Zoo when the magical moment happened.
Joined by her husband, Michael and 5-month-old baby boy, Canyon, Emmelina and her family decided to visit the gorilla enclosure at the zoo.
Once at the enclosure, Austin grabbed the attention of Kiki, a Western Lowland gorilla.
Speaking with News Center Maine, Austin explained: "She kept looking around the corner of the cave, and I was like, 'She's looking at Canyon.'"
At first, Austin couldn't understand why, until Kiki scooped up her own son, a 7-month-old Pablo, and held him up to the glass...
The 2 moms began showing each other their babies and Kiki became amazed by Canyon.
At one point she even tried to pet him and "hold his hand" through the glass separating them.
"Her face was just so in love. She was showing her baby, my baby," Austin said.
"When I walked into the zoo that day, I never could've imagined that we'd have this experience."
