Fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of the new generation PlayStation.

And now, the wait is finally over.

In April last year, it was announced by video game designer Mark Cerny that the PlayStation 5 will be coming in 2020.

Sony's Interactive Entertainment have been teasing gamers in the UK and Germany...

"We've begun to share some of the incredible features you can expect from PlayStation 5, but we're not quite ready to fully unveil the next generation of PlayStation," reads the company's statement on the website.

Excitement is at its peak.

And today Sony finally unveiled what the PS5 will look like.

Reactions from fans were mixed...

And some even trolled the new design.

A statement from the release of the trailer describes it as "a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly."
