A "Karen" in New York City was filmed coughing on a woman in a bagel shop after she was called out for not wearing a facemask, and the footage is truly horrifying...

Many wouldn't believe that we're still living through a global pandemic...

But believe it or not, we still are.

The Black Lives Matter movement has been dominating headlines over the last few weeks...

Which is exactly what should be happening, of course.

But it seems that many people have forgotten that a global pandemic has seized the entire world...

And even though numbers of infections are steadily dropping in many countries, our country continues to be the worst affected.

There are currently over 2 million actives cases of the virus here in America.

It just doesn't seem to be phasing people anymore.

Many individuals seem to be forgetting that the virus is passed on through close contact...

Such as coughing, sneezing, and touching things with your bare hands.

This is why many government officials have stressed the importance of wearing facemasks in public spaces...

Because even though they can't protect a person fully from catching or spreading the virus, they lower that chance significantly.

In many parts of the world, it is now mandatory to wear a form of facial covering in public...

And New York City is one of those places.

But it seems that one woman decided to completely disregard this new rule recently.

It all happened in a New York City bagel shop last week...

Ally Goodbaum was waiting to be served in the New York City Bagel Coffee House when she experienced a horrifying situation.

"Words truly cannot express my disappointment in humanity these days. I know there are bigger problems in the nation right now but more and more it seems the people who are just trying to stand up for the right things are getting bulldozed by bullies," she started by writing on Facebook.

She noticed a woman who was also waiting to be served...

But unlike everyone else in the shop, the woman wasn't wearing a facemask. Thankfully, another customer caught everything on their camera.

The woman seemed to have little care for the people around her...

"I was at New York City Bagel Coffee House on Broadway and 30th Street getting my bagel and noticed a patron (pictured below) who was coughing, not covering her mouth, and not wearing a mask," Ally wrote. "I politely pointed this out to the woman working at the store and told her that the store should enforce masks to worn by patrons while inside the store."

When the woman overheard Ally's conversation, things turned ugly.

"She became enraged yelling at me, calling me names, claiming she has COVID antibodies and doesn’t need to wear a mask in public so I should mind my own f****** business," Ally explained.

The woman was then seen storming over to Ally...

And deliberately coughing on her. "She then proceeded to come towards me and repeatedly cough on me as seen in this video."

Ally went on to express how she won't be shopping at the bagel shop again...

"I will NEVER be going back to New York City Bagel Coffee House Broadway and 30th Street because they still served this woman and none of the employees asked if I was okay. Plus Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company has way better bagels and kinder staff," she said.

This is not acceptable.

Ally considers the woman's behavior as an assault due to the fact that we're living through a pandemic, and many people have agreed with her.

The woman has been labeled as a "Karen"...

For those who aren't aware, a "Karen" is now associated with a middle-class white woman who throws a tantrum when she doesn't get her own way.

People are angry...

And with a little help from social media, the "Karen" was soon identified.

Her name is Lauren Balsamo...

And as soon as people found out she worked in clinical care, many began savagely demanding for her to be fired from her job.

The company in which Lauren worked for reached out on Twitter...

And they confirmed that she hadn't worked for them since January of this year and that they don't tolerate her "shocking" behavior.

It has been rumored that Lauren will be appearing on Good Morning America to give her side to the story...

So make sure to stay posted for further updates.
