Neymar and his girlfriend have called it quits just one month after giving birth to their child together.
Just one month after welcoming their first child together, the Brazilian soccer player and his girlfriend have called it quits.
“This is a private matter, but as I daily relate to news, assumptions and jokes, I inform you that I am not in a relationship,” Biancardi wrote in Portuguese via her Instagram Story on November 28.
She continued, “We are Mavie’s parents, and this is our reason for our bond. Thank you, thank you.”
For Neymar’s part, he has yet to publicly address the breakup.
While the soccer star is not one to go public with many of his relationships, he shared some of his union with Bruna with his followers leading up to the birth of their child.
“Our Mavie has arrived to complete our lives ❤️ 🙏🏼,” Neymar and Biancardi wrote in a joint Instagram post on October 6. “Welcome baby girl! You are already very much loved by us. Thank you for choosing us. May God bless you!”
In addition to his newborn, Neymar is also a father to a 12-year-old son, Davi Lucca, with ex Caroline Dantas.
The Al Hilal SFC player and Biancardi were first linked in April 2022, almost a year before they found out they were expecting a child. During Bruna’s pregnancy, the couple had to deal with an alleged cheating scandal.
In June, an influencer named Fernanda Campos claimed that she had an affair with Neymar beginning in November 2022. She also alleged that the athlete was secretive about his relationship status with Biancardi.
While neither Neymar nor Biancardi publicly addressed Campos’ claims, the footballer did issue an apology to his loved ones following the claims going public.
“I do this for both of you and your family. Justify the unjustifiable. No need to. But I need you in OUR lives,” Neymar wrote in Portuguese on June 21, not specifically addressing the allegations.
“I saw how much you were exposed, how much you suffered with all of this and how much you want to be by my side. And I stand beside you,” he continued.
Neymar concluded that his actions were “wrong” and affected “one of the most special people in my life,” seemingly in reference to Biancardi.
“Our purpose will prevail, our love for our baby will win, our love for each other will make us stronger. ALWAYS US. I love you ❤️,” he said to end his statement.
Biancardi never publicly addressed the alleged infidelity, nor did she respond to Neymar’s social media apology. One day later, the pair stepped out together at his annual Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. charity auction.
They looked happily in love the following day at at Mavie’s baby shower, seemingly working past their problems in the media.
“We were so looking forward to this moment. We can’t wait to meet you in person, DAUGHTER! 💖✨👧🏽💕,” Neymar and Biancardi captioned a joint Instagram post in Portuguese with party pics. “You are our greatest gift!”
Upon confirmation of her split from Neymar, it’s safe to say Biancardi is going through a tough time right now. Her adressing the breakup comes just a few weeks after she and her family were the target of an armed home invasion.
Following the scary incident, Bruna reassured fans that she, baby Mavie, and her family were all safe and sound.
“Passing by to reassure friends, family and those of you who follow me here,” her Nov. 8 Instagram statement in Portuguese read.
“That morning they robbed my house and took my parents hostage. Me, Mavie and my sister are no longer living there, and we weren’t at the moment. Thank God everything is fine with them,” she wrote.
Biancardi continued, “Material things we can win back, the important thing is that everyone is well and that those involved are being found. Thank you my God for taking care of us, always protect my family from all evil, Amen.”
As for Neymar, he’s currently facing a lengthy recovery following a serious knee injury.
The Al Hilal forward underwent a successful surgery to repair anterior cruciate ligaments and meniscus injuries in his left knee in Brazil on November 2.
While no recovery estimate was given, Brazil’s Football Confederation is hopeful that the 31-year-old will be back in time for the 2024 Copa America, which takes place between June 20 and July 14.
“Neymar has been recovering very well,” Brazil’s national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said after performing surgery on the player.
“Yesterday, I was with the player for a new post-operative assessment, already scheduled. He is recovering very well, of course, still in the initial phase,” he continued.
“It’s a complex injury, he ruptured a ligament and needs to be off his feet for a while. Due to the associated injuries, he will go through a lengthy rehabilitation process, he is aware of that. But he has been responding very well, we are satisfied,” the doctor concluded.
