Ariana Grande was best known for her role as Cat Valentine on Victorious and respectfully resumed her role in the spinoff show, Sam & Cat until the sitcom was canceled in 2013.
Since her Nickelodeon days, the star singer has gained a big fandom, releasing some hit tracks including ‘7 rings’, ‘Bang Bang’, ‘Positions’, and ‘Thank U Next’.
And her fellow Nickelodeon star, Jennette McCurdy, has recently been in the news for speaking up about how she was reportedly treated differently from Grande in the sitcom, Sam & Cat.
McCurdy revealed in her memoir titled I’m Glad My Mom Died, that she would often become “jealous” of how the star singer was treated.
The actress claimed she had to turn down other work while working on iCarly, but Grande was allowed to skip Sam & Cat filming just so she could attend other shoots and events.
McCurdy thought this was unfair and even confessed she felt a mess when the makers revealed she had to film without her co-star because she was too busy with an awards show.
“The week where I was told Ariana would not be here at all, and that they would write around her absence this episode by having her character be locked in a box. Are you kidding me?” she said.
“So I have to turn down movies while Ariana’s off whistle-toning at the Billboard Music Awards? F**k. This,” McCurdy added.
But now Grande’s fans have noticed that it wasn’t just McCurdy dealing with all the abuse…
A clip from the show recently went viral on the internet…
Where Grande, who was just 16 years old at the time, spoke about her uvula getting stuck between a hamster’s toes, before putting her finger in the back of her throat.
According to a report in UNILAD, the clips went viral on Twitter, with the compilation being viewed more than 3.4 million times.
But it’s not only that, there was another scene that showed the actress lying on her back and pouring water on her chest, which obviously didn’t go down too well with her fans who slammed the makers for abuse.
“This is absolutely disgusting. As an adult watching this right now you can tell EXACTLY what they were doing,” one user wrote.
And the comments didn’t just end there, as more and more people dropped their support for the ‘Thank U Next’ singer.
“This always makes me nauseous, imagine ‘directing’ a teenager to do that stuff as a grown man,” they wrote.
“When she stuck her finger in her mouth… She looked physically uncomfortable, and the feet thing… Just… Wow, disgusting,” added another.
Nickelodeon is yet to respond to these allegations…
And everyone also wants to hear Grande’s side of the story too.
