Breaking news. Markie Post, star of Night Court and Scrubs, has died at the age of 70.
The acting legend, who also featured in films such as There’s Something About Mary and Muffin Top: A Love Story, passed away yesterday, her manager, Ellen Lubin Sanitsky, confirmed.
Post began her career in the entertainment industry working as a producer on game shows before she started her on-camera career as a card dealer on NBC’s Card Sharks back in the late 1970s.
As her career progressed, Post appeared in several television series, including CHiPs, The Incredible Hulk, Cheers, Fantasy Island and even The A-Team.
However, her career highlight came in Night Court, in her role as public defender Christine Sullivan, who was in 159 episodes between 1985 and 1992.
Post then made her way to the big screen, starring in There’s Something About Mary, as Cameron Diaz’s mother, with many memorable scenes.
Speaking following her death, her family said:
