However, acting was a new venture for the star, as she originally fell in love with singing, starting at the age of just 4.

She began acting after her vocal coach recommended she should try it out. “Acting and music relate in that they are both about capturing feelings and moments as accurately as you can,” Rodrigo explained.

Talking about her favorite music, Rodrigo said: “My favorite songs are brutally honest and give a vivid look into the artist’s life and mind.”

Adding: “Honest storytelling is my ultimate goal.”

She showcased her singing talents in HSM the series when she performed 2 of her own original songs, as well as the classics.

“Writing for HSM was surreal, to say the least. The fact that they gave a 16-year-old a shot to write for such a big project is so awesome,” she said about the experience.

“I think the perspective of a teenage girl is so powerful, and something that doesn’t always gets harnessed in its full capacity, too.”

Rodrigo began exploring music when she was in kindergarten, taking voice lessons, followed by piano lessons.

When she was twelve, she started to learn guitar.

And that’s where her love of songwriting began.

“I remember coming up with melodies and lyrics and writing them down in this pink fluffy notebook that I had won at some arcade.

“I still keep that notebook on my bedside table,” she revealed.

Since then she has gone on to release some incredible music.

In 2020, her debut single ‘Drivers License’ came out, later becoming one of the best-selling songs in 2021.

This thrust her into the spotlight.

And later in 2021, she released the singles ‘Deja Vu’ and ‘Good 4 U’, which were both smash hits.

After her career in the music industry kicked off, she decided to distance herself from HSM after 2 seasons.

The Series creator Tim Federle has shared that they have her storyline exit already planned out. “I think she’s ready to explore the world outside the halls of East High…And so this season it’s about trying to give her character a proper sendoff while also leaving room for other characters to really step into the fray and step into the spotlight,” he said.

Rodrigo then released her debut solo studio album, Sour, which also blew the competition out of the water.

Winning her 3 Grammy Awards!

And recently, thanks to her huge success, Disney+ has released the documentary Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U.

The show details the ups and downs of Rodrigo’s life as she created the album Sour.

To top it all off, the star has sold over 1 million albums here in the U.S. alone, which means she’s rubbing shoulders with the likes of Adele and Taylor Swift.

Now that’s pretty impressive.

And she’s only nineteen!

As a result of all her hard work, she has a very loyal fan base online.

And considering she’s just finished her world tour for Sour, it seems as though she’s having a well-deserved break away from everything.

The star recently posted images on Instagram during a day at the beach.

She captioned the post: “Home,” and fans are going crazy over her photos.

One fan commented on her Instagram post, writing: “can’t handle the cuteness.”

While another wrote: “living her best life.”

“Another day another slay, glad you’re home,” a third added.

But it was a comment from Iris Apatow that’s got everyone talking…

The actress took to the comment section of her post, writing: “Prettiest princess award,” and many agreed with her response.
