Outkast have shared the meme behind "Hey Ya's" dark hidden meaning and it's safe to say, people are shocked by the revelation...
We all remember Outkast, right?
The hip hop duo from East Point, Georgia, delivered some of our favorite '00s bops.
The band consists of André "3000" Benjamin and Antwan "Big Boi" Patton.
And gained both critical and commerical success during their active years between 1992 and 2007.
They're known for their clever lyrics and catchy melodies.
And had huge hits including "Roses" and "Miss Jackson."
But there's one Outkast hit that stands out above the rest.
It has to be "Hey Ya," right?
We've all danced to this 2003 banger.
Who hasn't shaken it "like a Polaroid picture?"
But this week, people have realized something.
That incredibly catchy tune isn't what it seems.
Andre 3000 shared a meme that has the whole internet talking ...

It seems people are just coming to realize the truth!
"André 3000 actually wrote this about modern-day relationships and how messed up they are. In the beginning of the song, he even references his own relationship; how his baby doesn't wanna leave him, how doesn't really know what the reason is behind it."
"What he's talking about is in modern-day relationships, people stay in them because they just don't want to be alone, not because of their love for the other person."
Just think about the lyrics!
"We get together, oh, we get together, but separate's always better when there's feelings involved… know what they say, nothing lasts forever!"
"Then what makes it, then what makes it, then what makes love the exception?"
"So why, oh, why, oh… are we still in denial when we know we're not happy here?"
The TikTok continues, "If you just read the lyrics it actually sounds like a really sad song."
"Even at the breakdown at the end, he makes a reference to how people are just gonna see it as a happy song and not even think about the deeper meaning behind it, nor do they even wanna hear about it."
Are you as shocked as we are?
