Basically, it is an iOS and Android app made for creating and sharing short lip-sync, comedy, and talent videos.
It went viral pretty quick…
It was the world’s fourth most downloaded app in 2018, beating Instagram and Snapchat – which is a pretty big achievement!
It reminds many people of Vine.
Who remembers Vine? Launched in 2012, Vine was a short-form video hosting service that allowed users to share 6-second-long looping video clips.
And TikTok videos are similarly weird.
But it has to be said, the majority of them are rather entertaining.
Animals and TikTok are the best combination.
More and more people jumped on board the TikTok bandwagon and started getting their beloved pets involved.

People love to film themselves pranking others and share it online.
However, a different TikTok has taken the internet by storm this week.
And it’s got the internet going crazy.
Influencer Paige Craig used TikTok to request help from her 1.1 million followers in identifying a celebrity that was sat next to her during a flight.
The brief clip began with her boarding the aircraft before cutting to the famous person she was “too scared” to talk to.
“Can someone tell me who this man is because people keep taking pics with him and I’m too scared to ask him who he is,” the text read.
She captioned the post: “Other information – he speaks Spanish and is a very nice man. Thank you for your service.”
After receiving more than an incredible 30.4 million views since being posted last week, the TikTok has now gone viral.
And the comment section is overflowing with people sharing their guesses.
And it seems multiple people claim to have figured out who the mystery celebrity was…
Eugenio Derbez.
The 61-year-old actor is known best for his performance in the Oscar-winning movie CODA and How to Be a Latin Lover.
One TikToker wrote: “That’s Eugenio Derbez!!! He was in Instructions Not Included, Under The Same Moon, and CODA which won Best Picture at the Oscars last year.”
“That’s Eugenio Derbez he speaks English don’t be shy talk to him,” another said.
Paige then uploaded another TikTok the next day, explaining: “Sat next to this guy on the airplane and people kept asking him for pictures.
“I did the only logical thing and asked TikTok assuming he would never know I did this.”
After that, she put together a video of Derbez responding directly to the popular video on his account.
He says: “Hi Paige, let me introduce myself. My name is Eugenio Derbez and I’m basically an actor and director.”
After playing himself in a collection of clips from some of his most notable roles, the actor turned Paige’s query back on her.
