Bowie was christened David Robert Jones, a young boy who had an interest in music and the arts from a very young age.

He first rose to fame in the late 1960s when his innovative work started gaining attention.

The release of his single "Space Oddity" in 1969 kick-started his career, which lead to the birth of his flamboyant and androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust.

The character was spearheaded by the success of Bowie's single "Starman"...

And also the success of the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, which won him widespread global popularity.

Bowie went on to produce and release some timeless classics.

Including the 1980 single "Ashes to Ashes", the 1981 collaboration with Queen "Under Pressure", and the 1983 single "Let's Dance."

His incredible talent for songwriting wasn't the only thing Bowie was known for, however...

He was also known for his wild antics and presence in London's nightlife in the 1970s and 80s.

They don't call it sex, drugs, and rock & roll for nothing...

It has been reported that in the late 70s, Bowie lived off nothing but hard drugs and alcohol - something that would later take a sharp effect on his health.

Working late through the night and losing a lot of weight wasn't good at all for both Bowie's mental and physical health...

But by the time the late 1980s-90s rolled around, the singer had gotten his life somewhat back on track.

And of course...

His music is something that will go down in history.

But tragedy wasn't far around the corner for the famed singer.

In 2014, Bowie was diagnosed with liver cancer - which was assumed to be linked to his lifestyle as a younger man. He tragically passed away on January 10th, 2018.

The world was utterly heartbroken...

And tributes came flooding in for Bowie and the legacy he had left behind.

It's been almost 3 years since Bowie passed away...

And now, a biopic is about to be released to tribute the late musician.

Starring Johnny Flynn, the biopic is titled Stardust...

And in similarity to Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman, the movie will chronicle the young David Bowie's first visit to the U.S in 1971 - a trip that inspired the invention of his iconic Ziggy Stardust.

But Bowie fans aren't loving it... at all.

So much so...

That people are demanding for the movie to be boycotted.

So, it turns out that the movie didn't get the authorization to use Bowie's music...

And his family also didn't give their permission for a biopic to be made.

And to make things even worse...

David Bowie once spoke about how he never wants a biopic to be made about him.

Why on earth would producers go ahead with the biopic...

Knowing that neither Bowie nor his family wanted it made or gave their permission?
