But don’t be too sad!
Because this show’s sure to thrill.
Many viewers are praising Evan Peter and his amazing portrayal of Jeffrey Dahmer.
So much so, that people find it “creepy as hell,” and others calling it “bone-chilling.”
While people find Evan Peter’s portrayal of Dahmer creepy…
Some are becoming wary of glamorizing the serial killer because of Peter’s portrayal.
One user took to social media, saying, “Dahmer is out, let’s not romanticize Jeffrey Dahmer just because he is played by Evan Peters. Remember the victims.”
Another user added: “It’s okay to praise Evan Peters for his performance, he is a brilliant actor. But do not romanticize him in the role as Jeffrey Dahmer.”
And now, following the show’s release, people are calling it one of the scariest ever!
Alberto Carlos for Espinof added: “A remarkable example of true crime that is as forceful as it is truly absorbing and disturbing in its merciless portrayal of the killer.”
While Ed Power from the Daily Telegraph called it, “A competent and earnest character study that goes out of its way to make the viewer’s insides lurch, their skin crawl.”
Have you tuned in?
The series has earned the right to be scary…
But many viewers didn’t know that this part of the series was actually changed from what actually happened.
If you’ve been keeping up with the series, you’d know about the neighbor that was suspicious about Dahmer.
However, she was never listened to by the authorities, which extended Dahmers years of getting away with murder.
The show portrays Glenda living next door to Dahmer…
However, that wasn’t the case at all.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Glenda didn’t live near Dahmer…
Rather she lived in a separate building from him.
Glenda died back in 2010…
But her daughter reported that her mother lived down the road from Dahmer.
One incident that occurred in Dahmer’s apartment was the death of Konerak Sinthasomphone.
Glenda called the authorities after her daughter spotted a person running out of Dahmer’s apartment naked and drenched in blood.
When two police officers arrived, Dahmer was able to trick the police officers, saying that the teenager was his adult lover.
Believing his story, the cops allowed Sinthasomphone to go back inside with Dahmer.
Glenda called the police yet again, urging them to do something…
But the police denied her claims.
Sadly, Sinthasomphone became the 13th victim of Dahmer.
And now, with more recent news…
Everyone has had their eyes set on the brand new Dahmer series.
When released, Netflix placed an LGBTQ tag beside it.
However, it caused a lot of eyebrows to be raised…
With many LGBTQ viewers not liking the idea of Dahmer representing the community.
One viewer on TikTok wrote: “This is not the representation we’re looking for.”
A second said she was ‘livid’ that they had the audacity to highlight the show being LGBTQ and horror.
She said: “Jeffrey Dahmer is not the queer representation that we want, asked for, need – nothing,” she said.
She continues: “I feel like horror implies a certain level of fiction and whimsy that is entirely non-existent and inappropriate for this situation.”
Dahmer and his victims were all reported as being part of LGBTQ…
Which therefore could be the reason why Netflix categorized it under LGBTQ. But nonetheless, it sure made some viewers outraged.
But despite the criticism, the show is getting…
It appears as though Peter Evan is being praised for his performance in the show, and is also being considered one of the best actors of our generation.
Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that Peter Evan’s latest show is what seems to be in everyone’s mind…
And his acting is something everyone is talking about.
His remarkable portrayal of Dahmer is something else he adds on to his Hollywood resume.
Viewers have taken it to social media, praising the actor.
One user wrote: “I don’t know what to think of Dahmer. Evan Peters is one of the most talented actors of our generation. I keep having to stop every half an hour because it’s too much.”
A second added: “Evan Peters is just too good. Portraying one of America’s serial killers must have been really scary/difficult for him but he nailed it. He is really one of the most talented actors of this generation.”
A third user added a similar view, saying, “Evan Peters is one of the most talented actors of our generation. But even I will need to have a break in between episodes. The multitude of layers of homophobia and racism meant the real-life Jeffrey Dahmer got away with it for years. It’s devastating to watch.”
