I’m not a movie fanatic, but there are just some films that define one’s life and Hot Rod is one of them. People are only just discovering it in 2020, but are still enjoying it as we all did back in the day.

Read on to see relatable reactions from fans all around the world as well as the official trailer to get a whiff of what you’re missing out on.

Hitting our screens all the way back in 2007, Hot Rod has never seemed to get the recognition it deserves…

It has recently re-ignited a new wave of love as more and more people discover the underrated gem.

If you’ve seen Andy Samberg in anything (but particularly Brooklyn Nine-Nine), you will understand just how talented he is.

It’s a reckless crew we all wanted to be part of.

As per the IMDb description, Hot Rod is the story of a “self-proclaimed stuntman Rod Kimble [who] is preparing for the jump of his life – to clear fifteen buses to raise money for his abusive stepfather Frank’s life-saving heart operation.”

The fictional characters were a crucial component in creating a lasting impact. Yes, they were hilarious, but the development of each one allowed us to see a little part of ourselves in them.

Rod Kimble; The man, the myth, the legend. A wild and rad soul. As I mentioned previously Andy Samberg knows exactly how to portray this role. I couldn’t think of anyone better to play Kimble.

Bill Hader, Danny McBride, Jorma Taccone and Isla Fisher all come together to deliver a comedy masterclass in Hot Rod.

It is eighty-eight minutes of pure joy and I’m glad it’s being appreciated by the masses. I mean, it only took thirteen years, but we’re finally here.

The soundtrack is beyond amazing.

Start with A Gringo Like Me and then move onto On the Loose until you arrive at (I Just) Died In Your Arms. Make sure you don’t skip any of them, but especially not Let’s Make Love Tonight.

No matter how many times you’ve watched it, you always find yourself laughing at the same exact parts – Well, I do anyway.

I honestly don’t blame you…

I laughed so much.

Comedic genius!

So we owe a lot to it.

I’m glad it’s finally getting the recognition it deserves. Keep scrolling for the trailer.
