Cracker Barrel has outraged its customers by incorporating a new item into its menu.
In recent weeks, Cracker Barrel took a huge leap by adding vegan sausage to its menu.
Of course, this didn’t sit well with customers who’ve dined at the franchise for years and as they are now planning on boycotting the company.
Some customers have promised to never return to the franchise again for adding the vegan-friendly product to its menu.
While others seemed thrilled about this new item added to the menu and confused as to why people felt so threatened by the item being brought up on the menu.
On August 1st, Cracker Barrel took to their Instagram page, announcing the new product on the menu…
“Swipe to say hello to your new craving — Impossible Sausage Made from Plants. Build Your Own Breakfast and give it a try,” the caption read on the post.
People took to the comment section to share their disapproval of the new item…
One wrote: “You just lost the customer base; congratulations on being woke and going broke.” A second added: “I Use(d) to love your store Now No Way.”
While people continued to have rants about why they would never return to the franchise, a few defended the company from the negativity it received.
One wrote: “Imagine getting that upset about a menu addition. When your life is so small, you need to spread vitriol over a sausage.” While another said: “Best thing they brought to the menu! So much better for the environment.”
