As summer approaches, one of the nation's favorite fruits to snack on is flying off the shelves... strawberries.
But, a TikTok video has gone viral of a person washing their strawberries in saltwater, and what they found will make you never want to eat a strawberry again...
Summer is nearly here.
Granted, it's not the summer we were all expecting, but we can't complain about a good 'ol dose of vitamin D, can we?It's the season of BBQs, pitchers, and sunbathing...
And it's also the time of year when we tend to gorge of refreshing fruits.Like strawberries, for instance.
But, if you're a fan of the red fruit, you definitely won't be after you read this story. Why?
Well, a trend, sparked by a TikTok video, is seeing people wash their strawberries in saltwater.Of course, it's totally normal (and recommended) to wash your fruit before eating.
But this video is about to make you vow to never eat a strawberry again. The trend started earlier this week with TikTok user, Seleste Radcliffe.
And it sees people washing their strawberries in saltwater... and what they discover is gross. It seems that many of our strawberries are infested with tiny bugs.
And washing them in saltwater brings all the bugs out to the surface. In the viral video, she removes an unopened pack of strawberries from her fridge...

She then places them in salt water for a few minutes and zooms in on the tiny bugs. It's a stomach-churning watch.

"Apparently if you wash your strawberries in water and salt, all the bugs will come out," TikTok user Seleste Radcliffe said in a video. She continued:

"And little critters will come out. Look at that, look at that!" she said, as zoomed in on a small bug, all while ensuring every viewer would likely never touch a strawberry again. Now, you make think it was all staged for the video...
