The world of fashion is ever-changing and, while it can be host to several high-fashion trends, it can also boast a selection of bizarre and all-out horrifying ensembles.

From denim underwear to see-through shorts, there are numerous things you look at and simply think "Why?" And this time is no different. Bottega Veneta has recently released a bag that has elicited a very strong reaction.

The fashion industry has always been controversial.

Over the years, fashion has been used as a form of expression, rather than simply a means to put clothes on our backs.

People love to make a statement through their clothes.

Fashion can be the perfect place to visually communicate personal identity, artistic expression, and even political messages.

Many people are desperate to keep up with the latest trends.

Whether it's wanting to look like your favorite celeb or bagging an ensemble fresh from the runway, many avid fashion-lovers take their clothes very seriously.

But sometimes, trends can get all-out weird.

The fashion world has certainly had its stranger moments, shall we say but it only gets worse from here.

The latest trend to take over comes from the least threatening area of fashion...

The accessories. Typically, it's much easier to get away with a smaller statement piece like a bracelet or a clutch, but with this new accessory on the scene, spectators might not be so forgiving.

Now you've all heard of Bottega Veneta, right?

The Italian luxury fashion brand has never failed to hit the headlines, but these days, it never seems to be for the right reasons.

Remember when they released these bad boys?

Now I'm all about platform boots, but these babies need to go straight into the trash. There is no way you'd catch me walking around in what has been described as "vegetable-tanned calfskin."

In what world does that sound appealing?

And just to add insult to injury, these clunky rubber-soled boots will set you back a whopping 1,050 great American dollars.

If you're looking for something a little more expensive but just as ugly, then maybe opt for these:

Ladies and gentlemen, these crow-inspired slip-ons are known as the "Almond Pumps." A pretty tame name for something that looks like it was created in the Underworld.

Would you be caught dead in these?

I mean, at least the style is available in a less dreary color, if you think a nude pink can help spice up the morbid look. For almost 1097 dollars, you think you'd be getting something a little more worth the paychecks.

But it's not just footwear where things get a little questionable...

Their handbags have recently been stealing the spotlight for their very unique look - and yes, I use that word very lightly.

Who comes up with some of this stuff?

I can just imagine a whole group of creatives sat around a table throwing about new ideas and someone offhandedly throws this one in thinking it will get rejected... But no, it becomes reality.

Then they get put onto a catwalk...

You have got to be kidding me. Maybe I'm just not intelligent enough to be understanding the creative genius that is Bottega Veneta? All I do know is if I was walking around my town wearing any of these designs, I would be ridiculed. Badly.

But the latest competitor to take the reigns is none other than the "Dog Poo Bag."

That is the casual name that was given to the "BV Twist."

According to its official description on the website, this bag is a "soft clutch with knotted handle in woven leather."

And here are the highlights, just in case you didn't notice them already... Firstly, it is a "soft sack shape with [a] handle that looks casually knotted and slips around the wrist" with an "iconic intrecciato weave in a subtly amplified new dimension..." Whatever that means.

It continues, outlining some other details we all missed...

The bag contains a "calf leather lining" as well as an "internal zip pocket and a "zip opening at bottom of the bag."

And some extra good news for you all...

The bag is also available in two other quirky colors that would be hard to match with your daily outfits.

And it can be all yours for the low-low price of 2142 bucks!

So, you're telling me that this Italian company is selling what essentially looks like a "dog poo bag" (according to the internet) that you can get for under $2 for that extortionate price?

I mean, if you're going to do something like that, you're just asking to be roasted.

And it seems as though Twitter was having a wonderful time letting BV know exactly what they thought of their release.

I mean, each to their own, right?

At least they're making sure the streets are clean.

This user seems to have been ahead of the game...

You would not catch me with one of those in my hand.

Their other collections haven't faired too well with the general public either...

Expensive and ugly is not a good look.
