Never the one to miss out on having his opinion heard, Piers Morgan has this week weighed in on the dilemma surrounding the royal titles of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following their shock departure from the British royal family last week...

And, as expected from the motor-mouthed presenter, he didn't hold back.

Here's the full story...

Now, many of us were hardly surprised to hear the news of Meghan and Harry's decision to permanently leave behind their life as monarchs...

Because, since marrying into the prestigious family in 2018, Meghan suffered tremendously at the hands of the British press.

Anything she did or said...

The media vultures had something to say about it.

Whether she was being branded as a diva, a control-freak, a "monarchy ruiner," and even a bad mother, Meghan received it all.

Even though Meghan bravely put a smile on her face throughout it all...

There was absolutely no doubt that she was struggling.

So, in January 2020, Meghan and Harry made the bold decision to step down from their roles as senior royals.

In a joint statement, the couple said that they wanted "a normal upbringing for their child" and that "spending their time between the U.K. and America would be much more appropriate for their family environment."

This came as a huge shock worldwide...

But nobody was more shocked than those in the royal family.

Apparently, the Queen wasn't notified of Harry and Meghan's plans to step down from the family until after their announcement on social media.

Her Majesty published a statement shortly afterward, which read: "Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through."

Harry's relationship with his brother William also came under strain following his departure, reports at the time claimed.

The future King of England was reported to have distanced himself from Harry and Meghan, with claims surfacing that the pair didn't speak for months.

But, regardless, they made the big move to Los Angeles...

Where they continued to receive heat from the British press for "breaking up the royal family."

The pair also revealed that they will be venturing into the world of TV...

Which left many a little confused, considering they had insisted that privacy one of their main reasons for leaving the United Kingdom in the first place.

Harry and Meghan allegedly signed a $143 million deal with Netflix for a reality series...

They have been reported to want to "work behind the cameras" with Netflix so people can see "the real Meghan." A source explained how the vision of the show will be tasteful: "They want to give people a glimpse into their lives. They may have had all these lofty ideas about producing epics highlighting environmental causes and the poverty gap, but Netflix obviously wants their pound of flesh."

If it happens, it will hopefully have more longevity than their other explorations.

As their biography, Finding Freedom, is now being sold with a substantial price decrease just months after being released.

The book, which was released in August last year, was originally a huge success.

The biography was written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, and although the couple claimed they did not contribute to the book, it contained a lot of intimate knowledge.

It offers a glimpse into the couple's life as senior royals, while discussing their shocking exit.

The Daily Mail reported that one of the authors, Omid Scobie, said that while they did not interview the couple, many friends gave them insights - providing "a lens to the couple through their friends and their circle of aides."

Initially priced at $27, the book was declared a bestseller...

And the Daily Mail reported that 31,000 copies of the book were sold in the U.K in the first 5 days of its release, according to figures from data provider Nielsen Book.

Things seem to be going well for the couple since their move...

And fans were delighted when they announced their second pregnancy on February 14th.

A spokesperson said:

"We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child."

But, just a few days after the happy news, some sad news followed...

It was announced last week that Meghan and Harry will not be returning as working members of the royal family.

A statement from the palace said the royals were "saddened by their decision" but that Harry and Meghan "remain much-loved members of the family".

But, of course, their announcement has sparked a total social media firestorm, with everyone bickering about one thing.

Should they keep their royal titles?

In stepping down, both Meghan and Harry are risking being stripped of their honorary military appointments and royal patronages - something that will be a blow especially to Harry, who has spent his life working for these titles.

And, while many don't see the harm in allowing Meghan and Harry to maintain their titles...

Loyal monarchists are demanding that they be stripped of them immediately.

And Piers Morgan is one of them.

Because of course he is.

The British journalist and presenter hasn't held back in his distaste for Meghan in the past, and has used his various platforms to slam her as a "hypocrite" and an "attention-seeker."

During this morning's Good Morning Britain, Morgan said:

"We will be debating today the Duke and Duchess of Sussex - should they no longer be called that, given how much they despise the Royal Family and everything it stands for... Apart from the wonderful ability it gives them with those titles to rake in millions of pounds in California."

He believes that, because they no longer participate in royal duties, they no longer need their titles.

"You could just renounce your own title, say, 'We don't need the royal titles, we don't even like the royal family or the monarchy.'"

Later on in the show, he added:

"They are making gazillions off their royal titles, so the question remains this, 'Should they be able to continue trading as celebrities off being the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, titles gifted to them by marriage by the Queen?'"
