A Pink fan found himself in a tizzy when he realized he had to shell out extra cash just to bring his newborn to the concert.
Down under in Sydney, Australia, a family geared up for the pop sensation’s Summer Carnival concert, only to face an unexpected hurdle.
The tickets, at a whopping $180 each, had already burnt a hole in their pockets, but the bombshell came when they were told the baby needed a $120 ticket too.
With no babysitter in sight, the family had no choice but to include the nine-week-old in their concert crew.
Venting his frustration to 7News, the Pink devotee expressed disbelief at having to pay full price for a baby who’d likely spend the show snoozing in a carrier or snuggled against his sister’s chest.
Initially, the man contacted Accor via Facebook Messenger regarding another issue—a nappy bag predicament—but ended up embroiled in a ticketing conundrum.
Seeking clarification, he messaged, “Can you tell me whether we will be allowed to bring a nappy bag? Also, just confirming she won’t need a ticket?”
The stadium’s response? “There is no issue bringing a nappy bag, but all attendees must have a ticket to enter, regardless of age.”
Stunned, the man questioned the logic, highlighting the absurdity of charging an infant who couldn’t even see or sit through the performance.
In an unexpected twist, it appears Accor has had a change of heart.
The stadium, amidst public uproar, has granted free entry to the baby, along with upgraded seats and primo parking.
The relieved concert-goer praised the “wonderful outcome,” revealing that media attention likely spurred the stadium’s reversal.
While this tale ends on a high note, it raises questions about ticketing policies and the power of public outcry.
Let’s hope the nine-week-old enjoys her first concert experience, thanks to a bit of media magic and some newfound generosity.
