Pregnant Librarian Shot Dead After Pulling Gun on Biker Who Followed Her Home in Road Rage Incident

A pregnant librarian has been fatally shot after she pulled a gun out on a biker who followed her home in a road rage incident.

Sara Nicole Morales was shot and killed by Andrew Derr following a road rage incident.

Thirty-five-year-old, Morales, is said to have intentionally hit Derr, on his motorcycle, with her car, Florida police said.

Derr then followed Morales home, where she emerged with a gun and Derr drew his own.

It’s an incident that has left many people with conflicting opinions.

The incident occurred at around 5pm on November 20.

Orange City Police received and responded to 911 calls of a minor hit and run crash.

Witnesses and Derr attempted to make Morales stop at the intersection, but she refused and continued driving, a statement from police explained.

Derr and others witnesses “followed Morales in attempt to help identify her for law enforcement” before stopping in front of Morales address and “calling 911 to have law enforcement respond to this location.”

Upon arriving at her home address, Morales went into her house and re-emerged a short time later with a handgun.

“Morales confronted the witnesses and Derr, as they were on the phone with 911,” police said. “Morales pointed a handgun at the witnesses and Derr.”

Derr, who has a valid Florida Concealed weapons permit, then proceeded to draw his own handgun before firing multiple rounds and striking Morales.

Morales was transported to hospital but she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

In bodycam footage, obtained by Fox35, police officers can be seen arriving at the address with their guns drawn as they approach Derr.

Derr complies as he is ordered by police to get on the ground.

Derr can be heard telling officers that he is “so sorry” and that he “didn’t do anything wrong” as he asks them “please don’t shoot me.”

“I’m not going to move. That girl tried to kill me,” he said. “She pointed a gun at me.

“She tried to kill me, and those other people are armed too, they have guns too. Please be easy gentlemen.”

Following the incident, 911 calls made by witnesses of the crash and Morales were released.

During Morales call she claimed that the men were being aggressive and threatening her, WFTV reported.

One call also heard a witness to the crash tell a dispatcher: “He’s fine. The lady just took off and left.”

While another call captured Morales screaming: “You’re three men. You followed me. Leave me alone!” before the sound of gunshots interrupts, the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

Morales’ boyfriend, Wilber Perez, spoke with the outlet and said that Morales was scared as she is “not the kind to give trouble or just go about pulling a gun on people.”

“She must have been really scared having her mother and her 11-year-old daughter at home,” he said.

It is not yet known why Morales hit Derr or what led to the initial road rage incident.
