As you’ll remember back in March, Meghan and Harry took the world by storm after they had one of the biggest interviews of the decade with talkshow host, Oprah Winfrey. Now photos have been released which counter some of the claims which were made.
Read on to see what we’re talking about…
Once again, Harry and Meghan have decided to step out of their ‘private’ life to have another dig at the Royal Family. In particular, Harry’s father, Prince Charles.
He said in the now famous interview: “I guess the highlight for me is sticking him [Archie] on the back of a bicycle in his little baby seat and taking him on bike rides which is something I was never able to do when I was young.”
However, new vintage photos have proved otherwise…
And they’ve left people pretty confused…
Now, we all know that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, formally stepped down from their positions within the royal family last year…
And they are currently residing in Los Angeles where they’re raising their son, Archie, and expecting their second child.
But they finally decided to speak out about their terrible experiences with the royal family and British press in the last few years…
To none other than Oprah Winfrey.
It’s the interview that everyone has been talking about.
Their 2-hour-long interview aired on CBS on Sunday, March 7th and viewers watched on in shock as some mind-blowing allegations were made against the monarchy.
It was claimed that senior members of the family had refused to get Meghan professional help when she was experiencing suicidal thoughts during her pregnancy with Archie.
Meghan also addressed that incident with her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.
Headlines were made in 2018 when Meghan allegedly “made Kate cry” in a row about bridesmaids’ dresses in the days before her and Harry’s wedding – well, in her chat with Oprah, Meghan claimed that Kate was the one to make her cry.
Though she did stress that Kate had apologized and that she had “forgiven her.”
She also addressed the ongoing issues of racism within the monarchy.
Meghan claimed an unnamed senior member of the Royal family raised “concerns” about how dark Archie’s skin would be before his birth.
“In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time, so we have in tandem the conversation of, ‘you won’t be given security, not gonna be given a title’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”
Harry then explained that he “had to get out,” though when he did he was “cut off financially” when he and Meghan needed help the most…
He also added that they’ve since been relying on his inheritance from Princess Diana.
“I was totally cut off financially. My family cut me off – if I didn’t have what my mom left me, we wouldn’t have been able to do this.”
“All I wanted to do was keep my family safe.”
Meghan then insisted that they never had any plans at first to quit the U.K – she said the intention was to “do this forever” and that she told the royal family to “use me as much as you like.”
Later in the interview, Oprah asked how the prince thinks the late Princess Diana would have felt about the rifts that drove them to step back from the royal family.
“I think she would feel very angry with how this has panned out, and very sad,” Harry said. “But ultimately, all she’d ever want is for us to be happy.”
Quite predictably, opinion was well and truly divided over the interview…
With a vast majority feeling sympathetic for Harry and Meghan over what they’ve allegedly endured in the last few years.
But on the other hand…
People have been slamming the pair for agreeing to take part in Oprah’s interview and have even been brandishing them as “liars”… including Piers Morgan, of course!
It’s undoubtedly caused a lot of drama…
And the couple have been the talk of the entire world.
But now, over 2 months on from the interview, Prince Harry has spoken out yet again…
And he’s revealed some heartbreaking home truths.
Harry and Oprah have created a new Apple TV+ series about mental health with the help of some of our favorite celebrities.
In it, Harry opened up about his mother Princess Diana’s death and how his family expected him to just deal with his feelings.
His comments come after admitting he wants to break the cycle of “genetic pain” in his family.
“My father used to say to me when I was younger, he used to say to both William and I, ‘Well it was like that for me so it’s going to be like that for you,'” Harry said.
“That doesn’t make sense. Just because you suffered doesn’t mean that your kids have to suffer, in fact, quite the opposite.”
“If you suffered, do everything you can to make sure that whatever negative experiences you had, that you can make it right for your kids,” he added.
He said his family told him to “play the game” and he would feel better.
But he objected, and told Winfrey: “I’ve got a hell of a lot of my mum in me.”
“The only way to free yourself and break out is to tell the truth.”
Harry made other shocking revelations such as the struggle both he and Meghan went through when she was suicidal…
He said he was “ashamed” of how he dealt with it and admitted he has used drink and dr*gs to ease his own pain in the past.
He also spoke of his anger at Diana’s death, and said: “The same people who chased her into that tunnel photographed her dying in the backseat of that car.”
“We spent four years trying to make it work. We did everything that we possibly could to stay there and carry on doing the role and doing the job.”
Referring to Charles, he said: “He’s treated me the way he was treated, so how can I change that for my own kids?”
Now, Harry claimed whilst a guest on a podcast, that he and his father, Prince Charles, were not allowed to go on bike rides together.
“I guess the highlight for me is sticking him [Archie] on the back of a bicycle in his little baby seat and taking him on bike rides which is something I was never able to do when I was young.”
However, new photos have proved otherwise…
Images of a young Prince Harry on the back of Charles bike have been released.
Royal expert Daniela Elser has debunked Harry’s claims alongside the photo, telling news.com.au: “As far as Harry is concerned it is only now that he has the freedom to strap in his two-year-old boy and cycle around the exclusive neighbourhood, just a father and son, the dappled sunshine and a Range Rover full of protection officers purring along in their wake.”
It has been confirmed that Harry, Charles and William all went on bike rides on at least four occasions, including Balmoral, Sandringham and on holiday to the Isle of Scilly.
Daniela Elser described the situation as ‘uncomfortable’ as she commented on the photos.
She also confirmed how the whole situation has affected the Royal Family, more specifically, Prince Charles.
It has been reported that the father and son relationship is ‘hanging by a thread’ with Charles, and the future King is currently ‘deeply hurt’ by his youngest sons ongoing slander against the Royal Family.
A royal source told The Sun: “Harry says he wants reconciliation, but has clearly decided to villainise his father. Charles is just at a loss about what to do.”
“It’s just so wounding to him [Charles], he’s a sensitive man and these personal attacks hurt deeply. He can’t understand why Harry is doing this to him.”
The new photos have added to the frustration many feel against Meghan and Harry’s ongoing media presence.
