The Kardashians were always destined for fame—at least, according to a psychic’s prediction.

In a new GQ profile, Kim Kardashian revealed that shortly after Robert Kardashian Sr. joined OJ Simpson’s defense team, the patriarch began receiving death threats. Concerned over what would happen to his family, the father decided to visit a psychic.

He told Kim that the psychic saw his last name and declared, “Kardashian will be internationally known.” At the time, he was skeptical, joking to his daughter, “This is how I know [psychics] are full of sh*t!”
The prophecy turned out to be accurate. Kardashian Sr.’s four children—Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, and Robert Jr.—became renowned celebrities. His daughters are now some of the most recognizable names in the world, making a fortune from their various business endeavors and reality TV shows.
According to Forbes, Kim is currently worth $1.7 billion. Kourtney is worth $65 million, while Khloé has a net worth of $60 million.
Robert Sr.’s visit to the psychic left a lasting impression on Kim. She told GQ that she visits psychics on a regular basis for advice.
“When they tell me things, I’ll write them down. I don’t walk away thinking that I’m going to read the list and make sure that everything comes true. After a few days I’ll forget about it,” Kim said. “Then six months after the fact, I will reread my notes from the session and it will have happened.”
In one recent session with a psychic medium, Kim’s dad made sure his presence was known. “My dad had a chip on his tooth and I always said, ‘Dad, get a bonding and fix that tooth.’ He’d just laugh and say, ‘Kimberly, no one sees it. It’s fine,'” she remembered.
During her reading, Kim had a chipped tooth. “Your dad is laughing at your tooth,” the medium told her. “Who would know that?” Kim said. “It was nothing that was on the show. It was nothing that I had ever said out loud. Those kinds of things just make me smile inside.”
While chatting with GQ, Kim divulged other memories of her late father. She shared one of the last conversations they had before he died of cancer in September 2003.
“I know you’re going to be OK,” Kim recalled her dad assuring her. “It’s almost like I can see ahead. I know you’re going to be OK, but just take care of your siblings for me. Just make sure to take care of them.”
His words made her see her life’s path from a new perspective. “I took what he said to mean that I was going to be OK in life,” she said. “But it made me make decisions differently.”
Kim intends to follow her father’s footsteps and become a lawyer. She’s been studying law since 2018 and is passionate about helping reform the criminal justice system. Kim revealed she has plans to take the bar exam in either late 2024 or early 2025.
Kim’s law tutor Chuck Shonholtz praised her dedication to studying for the bar exam. “No puffery, no hyperbole: that is one badass woman. She is smart, sharp. Dude, nothing but admiration for her. She works her ass off,” he told GQ.
