Since her coronation on February 6th, 1952, she surpassed Queen Victoria's old record of sixty-three years on the throne in 2015.

The Queen is also one of the most recognized figures in the world...

But since the day she was coronated, she hasn't stood alone.

We all know about the Duke of Edinburgh.

Elizabeth married Philip Mountbatten (a distant relative of hers) on November 20th, 1947, when she was just twenty-one. She'd met Philip aged thirteen and the 2 quickly became totally smitten.

Philip wasn't an expected fit for the Queen...

Queen Elizabeth was known for being more reserved and thoughtful, while Philip always had a reputation for being a bit bold and brash, and he has always had something of a mixed reputation in high society.

Soon after their marriage, they were required to take the last name of Windsor, which caused tension between the pair.

In that era, a man taking his wife's name was completely unspoken of and this brought Philip a lot of shame as a proud man.

Nevertheless, the pair wasted no time starting a family...

Their first child, Charles, was born in 1948, and is pictured on the left. Their second child, Anne, soon followed in 1950.

The Queen and Phillip have a total of 4 children together...

And whilst being a mother and a wife, Queen Elizabeth has successfully ruled the United Kingdom over the years, and she has also made herself into a very loved monarch.

But this doesn't mean that the couple hasn't faced marital difficulties.

Over the years, Philip has been forced to deny numerous infidelity rumors - in particular from the 1960s.

But regardless...

Queen Elizabeth and Philip have managed to stand the test of time and they have now been married for a staggering seventy years.

It's easy to say that the Queen and Prince Phillip are now one of the most loved couples in the world...

And fans are always overjoyed to see updated photos of the pair - especially during the pandemic.

Along with a reported number of twenty-two members of staff, of course!

But just because there's a pandemic...

It doesn't at all mean that royal duties have come to a halt.

The most recent royal event has shown Prince William, the future King of England, being granted 2 new patronages from his grandparents.

William is now the patron of 2 wildlife conservation organizations that were handed down by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip — adding to his ongoing campaign to aid and protect the natural world.

The Queen and Philip have been gradually passing down some of their patronages to senior royal family members in recent years...

So the organizations can move forward with younger figureheads.

To mark the event, Philip’s office at Buckingham Palace released 2 rarely-seen images of the royal on a trip from 1956 to 1957.

These incredible photos are not only amazingly retro, but they're also a fantastic snippet into the real Prince Philip.

Royal fans loved seeing the never-seen-before photographs...

And they felt it was a great way to shine some light on what Philip has done for the royal family.

The photos show the lengths Philip has taken to support his wife...

And to also fill his royal shoes.
