Beloved actor Rebel Wilson has announced she’s in a relationship, at the same time as coming out.
Now, she’s responded to rumors that she was forced to come out.
Wilson took to Instagram to share the amazing news.
She said: “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess #loveislove.”
She also shared a picture of her and her new girlfriend.
Her new love, according to TMZ, is Ramona Agruma, who’s reportedly a clothing and jewelry designer based in LA.
There were rumors that Wilson was ‘forced’ to come out by a newspaper.
The Sydney Morning Herald said that they had reached out to Rebel and gave her two days to comment on her relationship ‘before publishing a single word’.
Writing about reaching out to Wilson, writer Andrew Hornery commented:
“Big mistake. Wilson opted to gazump the story, posting about her new ‘Disney Princess’ on Instagram early Friday morning, the same platform she had previously used to brag about her handsome ex-boyfriend, wealthy American beer baron Jacob Busch.”
The piece went viral with many criticizing the paper for ‘complaining’ about Wislon choosing to announce the relationship herself.
Many also said that the paper more or less forced Wilson to come out.
One tweet stated that it wasn’t Rebel’s choice to come out and Rebel herself replied saying:
“Thank you for your comments. It was a very hard situation but trying to handle it with grace.”
