On October 1, Country Fresh called for a recall on all their packaged fruit...

Due to them potentially being contaminated.

The fruit was packed in clamshell containers...

And had use-by dates between Oct. 3, and Oct. 11, 2020.

Listeria can be very serious...

According to the FDA, it can cause "serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems."

Even healthy individuals could be at risk...

With some possibly experiencing symptoms such as; high fever, headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

And obviously, this isn't ideal with the pandemic still making the rounds, as some of the symptoms overlap...

This makes it difficult for doctors to diagnose it, as the protocol for illnesses is different now.

The initial recall has been expanded to include sliced apples, grapes, mangos, pineapples, and cantaloupe.

According to the FDA, during an inspection, listeria was found on Country Fresh equipment.

Watermelon at Walmart and RaceTrac had to be recalled...

In Arkansas, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Followed by the extended recall for other fruits at Walmart stores...

Thankfully so far there have been no cases of Listeria from people who have bought the products before the recall.
