Rihanna Got Real About Her 'Fluctuating Body Type' and People Are Loving It | 22 Words

Rihanna has always been confident about everything she does, as she should be. She's the queen — a triple threat of music, makeup, and fashion.

A style icon for so many, Rihanna always looks incredible. In a new interview in The Cut, Rihanna addressed the fact that her body type often changes and that she feels lucky to be able to rock so many looks.

Of course, RiRi doesn't owe anyone an explanation about her body, but it's inspiring to hear someone talk so candidly and positively about being different sizes.

The Cut caught up with Rihanna at a "pep rally" for the release of her new fashion line, Fenty University (F.U.).

Interviewer Emilia Petrarca asked RiRi what advice she has for young girls about "how to wear clothing that fits their bodies but also makes them feel good."

Rihanna launched into this awesome answer:

"Well," she said, "I actually have had the pleasure of a fluctuating body type, where one day I can literally fit into something that is bodycon, and then the next day — the next week — I need something oversized."

"I need a little crop here and a high-waist there to hide that part, you know?" she continued.

"I really pay attention every day when I go into the closet about what's working for my body that morning. I feel like that's how everyone should go after fashion, because it's an individual thing." Yes! Listen to your body and your mind. What looks and feels good one day might not look and feel good the next day, and that is totally OK.

"And then, if you take it further," Rihanna continued, "it's like: What week are you having?"

"You having a skinny week? You having a fat week? Are we doing arms this week? We doing legs this week? We doing oversized?" Let your body dictate what you wear. Don't stuff yourself into some uncomfortable garment because you think you're supposed to.

Rihanna concluded, "I love to play with silhouettes as well, but I think it's important to make sure that you wear the thing that works for your body the best, and that's flattering."
