It’s confirmed! Robert Pattinson will return as the Dark Knight in The Batman 2, and we’re all super excited!
The news broke yesterday at Cinemacon, as per Collider.
Warner Bros said yesterday that Matt Reeves, the director of Batman, wishes to expand his vision when it comes to Gotham City…
And it looks like he is doing just that as Robert Pattinson is officially returning as the Dark Night in the second film.
People took to social media to share their excitement with the news almost immediately…
“Batman 2 better be 6 hours,” one person quipped.
Another excited individual wrote: “THE BATMAN 2 IS OFFICIALLY HAPPENING.”
Many other people shared their relief from the incredible announcement, saying: “ME AFTER HEARING THE BATMAN 2 IS CONFIRMED WITH MATT REEVES AND ROBERT PATTINSON RETURNING,” while sharing a gif of somebody screaming with excitement.
“Thank you all for your tremendous support for The Batman,” Reeves said on stage at Cinemacon, as per Deadline.
“We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world. I’m excited to jump back into this world for the next chapter,” he finished.
The Batman, released March 4, 2022, sees Batman, who has been fighting crime in the dark city of Gotham for over 2 years go against The Ridler, played by Paul Dano.
The Riddler persues and murders elite politicians and figures in Gotham City to draw attention to the alleged negligence of “forgotten” children, referring to orphans. The victim he then tries to pursue last is Bruce Wayne, who is also Batman, but, for obvious reasons, fails in his pursuit.
At the end of the film, it appears as though The Riddler is seen in his jail cell talking to none other than The Joker.
And that’s when worldwide speculation began about The Batman 2.
Who else is returning? You may be wondering… Well, it seems as though the entire team will be making a return!
The plot for the new movie is reportedly still under wrap, as per Indiewire.
Either way, we cannot wait to see what Reeves has got in store for us.
What do you think?
