Mostly because they’re so unpredictable.

Of course, the 1975 film Jaws gave sharks a terrible name…

And it’s absolutely false that sharks are simply blood-thirsty, man-eating machines who will ruthlessly attack anything in its path.

They’ve been given a pretty bad rep…

But did you know that the odds of being attacked by a shark are 1 in 3.75 million?

It’s unbelievably unlikely…

And the majority of people who swim in open waters often aren’t even aware if they’re in the company of a shark!

But sometimes this is a bad thing…

Leading authorities to close a 46 mile stretch of the local coastline.

The man identified as a Russian national by officials from the Russian Consulate in Hurghada.

But no official identification has been given.

These sorts of attacks are rare.

However, there were two fatalities in the area in 2020.

Which led to the deaths of an Austrian and a Romanian tourist.

But it doesn’t make the news any less devastating…

We wish his family all the best during this difficult time.

Rest in Peace.
