If there’s one thing we can always count on Ryan Gosling for, it’s giving his girl all of the praise she deserves.
Ryan Gosling is undoubtedly one of the biggest heartthrobs of out generation.
While fans already loved him from movies like The Notebook and Crazy Stupid Love, the love for him only grew once he started dating Eva Mendes.
Though many women were sad to see the man of their dreams in a relationship, the way Gosling has always talked about his partner just makes him that much more attractive.
The pair have been dating since 2011 and share two daughters: Esmeralda Amada, 9, and Amada Lee, 7.
Despite being together for over a decade, the couple continue to keep their love life somewhat private–which just makes fans that much more excited when we do get a peek into their relationship.
This week, Mendes gave her Instagram followers a taste of her relationship when she responded to her partner’s viral Critics Choice Awards moment.
The actress responded to Gosling’s deadpan reaction at the awards show on Sunday by sharing a GIF of the moment on her social media account.
The moment happened as Gosling reacted to the news that his Barbie movie song “I’m Just Ken” had won best song at the annual ceremony.
“I LOVE HIM!!!!” Eva captioned the clip.
The actor went on to jokingly shake his head in disbelief as he stood up to applaud the power ballad’s writers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.
As the producer went up to accept the award, Ronson addressed Gosling in the audience and gave him his props.
“Ryan Gosling, this is as much your award as ours,” he told the actor. “You made the audience fall in love with this song with your matchless performance, so thank you.”
Mendes’ Instagram post praising her partner comes after Gosling did the same at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Saturday night.
As the Barbie actor was honored with the Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at the festival, he gave a special shoutout to Mendes and their two daughters.
While explaining how his job as an actor has allowed him to portray different roles throughout his career, he went on to talk about what it’s done for him in his personal life.
“Most importantly, I got to meet the girl of my dreams, Eva Mendes, and have two dream children,” he gushed.
Ryan continued, “I dreamed of one day making movies, and now, movies have made my life a dream.”
Throughout his speech, Gosling expressed deep gratitude while also slipping in the occasional self-deprecating joke.
“It’s hard to imagine being at a point in my career where I’m standing up here tonight,” he began.
“It’s hard to feel deserving of all of this, but I remind myself that the proceeds go to a wonderful cause so it doesn’t really matter if I deserve it or not,” the actor joked.
He went on to slip in a joke about his role in the Barbie film, going back to the mantra that completely took over after the film’s release.
“It’s just that it’s Kirk Douglas. He’s one of the first true icons of cinema,” Ryan began. “He is completely and utterly in the class of his own, and I’m just Ken?”
Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling first sparked dating rumors in 2011 while filming The Place Beyond the Pines.
The couple went on to welcome their first child in 2014, something Eva admits she never envisioned happening before meeting Ryan.
“Then it made sense for me to have… not kids, but his kids,” she told Women’s Health at the time. “It was very specific to him.”
Over the years, the couple has never confirmed or denied their marital status, though Mendes teased they might already be married in 2022.
“There’s a rumor that you guys might have secretly tied the knot. Is that true?” Co-host Brittany Hockley asked on Australia’s Kyle and Jackie O Show.
“But who says we weren’t already?” Mendes replied. “I like to keep it all mysterious. I’m a very mysterious woman.”
It’s safe to say we’ll never know for sure if these two ever tied the knot, but they still seem to be one of the strongest couples in Hollywood, regardless of any documents.
