Sandra Bullock is a proud adoptive mother - and she's now, she's spoken out about how she wants people to refer to her children.

Here's the full story...

It's a sad reality of life, but there are children out there who have no real family...

And, as a result of this, these unfortunate people end up being passed to and from various different families throughout their childhoods.

This is called the foster system...

And, sadly, this system can prove to be a cruel and damaging experience for many children.

And the children suffer as a result. And, more often than not, children don't even get a real foster home, they are, instead, sent to live in institutions or group homes.

Many children are bounced from one foster home to another...

And, as a result, they can experience very little stability while growing up.

This can result in serious harm.

Languishing in foster care harms children’s well-being in a number of ways. The longer a child remains in temporary care, the more likely it is that he or she will experience multiple placement changes and disrupted relationships caused by such changes.

And, sadly for most children...

The foster system is anything but short-term.

Children are often stuck in the foster system for years...

And some never end up getting adopted.

And, even more devastatingly, some children are separated from their siblings in the foster process.

It's the sad reality of foster care but, children who enter the system with several siblings are likely to be separated at some point down the line.

You can't even bear thinking about it, can you?

But there are adoption stories with happy endings - like that of Sandra Bullock, for example.

Sandra Bullock is an immensely talented actress.

You'll know her from movies like Miss Congeniality, The Heat, Speed, Ocean's 8, and Birdbox.

Alongside this, Bullock is also a mother of 2.

She's adopted 2 children - Louis, age ten, and Laila, age 8.

And now, Bullock has spoken out about her adoptions.

And the internet is loving her stance.

She spoke out against the stigma of adoption...

Alongside the regulations on abortion, something which causes major issues with the system.

She was asked if the situation was getting any better.

"Not quickly enough," she told In Style.

She elaborated:

"Look: I’m all for Republican, Democrat, whatever, but don’t talk to me about what I can or can’t do with my body until you’ve taken care of every child who doesn’t have a home or is neglected or abused. It makes me teary-eyed."

"Let’s all just refer to these kids as 'our kids.'"

"Don’t say 'my adopted child.'"

"No one calls their kid their 'IVF child' or their 'oh, s**t, I went to a bar and got knocked-up child.''"

"Let just say, 'our children.'" Hear, hear.
