It has been revealed this week that Scarlett Johansson secretly tied the knot with her fiance, Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost - and the news was shared in the most unexpected of ways.

Here's what we know so far...

Their romance started in 2017.

Though they first met on the set of SNL in 2010, they didn't strike up a romantic relationship until a 2017 sketch, where Scarlett spoofed Ivanka Trump.

Just 2 months before, PEOPLE magazine reported that the actress had filed for divorce from her second husband, Romain Dauriac...

So she was well and truly on the market.

The pair reportedly became close at an SNL afterparty...

The 2 reportedly showed serious PDA at the cast party - Page Six reported from "multiple sources" that they "made out at least twice... at the bar in front of everyone."

In November that year, they made their first public appearance.

Johansson and Jost made their first official appearance together at the 2017 American Museum of Natural History Gala. Vogue released photos of the duo.

And the rest is history!

The couple went on to make several public appearances together, hand-in-hand and clearly madly in love.

And, in May 2019, they moved their relationship to the next level.

Scarlett's publicist, Marcel Pariseau, confirmed the news that Colin had officially popped the question. She was later seen sporting an eleven-carat engagement ring that's estimated to be worth $450,000.

So, of course, we can only expect the most lavish of ceremonies, right?

Well, you would be mistaken.

It has been reported this week that the pair have quietly tied the knot in a "secret" ceremony...

And how they announced it was a little unexpected.

Of course, the words of congratulations have been flooding in...

But how did the news break?

Well, neither Scarlett or Colin actually announced their happy news.

Meals on Wheels America did.

The couple has been supporting the charity, which combats hunger and isolation for over 5,000 seniors, and they used their wedding to raise more money for the foundation.

The charity shared this image on Instagram, alongside the caption:

"We’re thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and loved ones, following COVID-19 safety precautions as directed by the CDC. Their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults during this difficult time by supporting @mealsonwheelsamerica. Please consider donating to celebrate the happy couple by clicking the link in our bio."

Scarlett's representative has since confirmed the news.
