Singer, Scotty McCreery, announced that he and his wife Gabi are expecting their first child together…
The 28-year-old recently shared the exciting news with People, announcing that they are expecting a little boy.
“We got a little man on the way,” he said, sharing how they have “always talked about” creating a family together.
Scotty said: “We always knew we wanted kids, but we always knew we wanted the first few years to travel and have time on the road, to see things and experience life.”
“We’ve gotten to live a lot of life and do some cool things, so seems like now’s a good time to settle down a little and expand the family,” he added.
The soon-to-be parents tied the knot back in June 2018.
Before the wedding, the American Idol winner told People: “We’ve been dating six years and have known each other our whole lives. That kind of story doesn’t happen too often nowadays.”
Since the recent announcement, Gabi and Scotty have shared how surprised they were to learn they were expecting a boy…
“I was the only boy on both sides of my family, the last McCreery boy out there,” Scotty said. “Gabi’s from two sisters in her family, so I just figured it would be a girl. But we got a surprise of a boy.”
Gabi, who is a pediatric nurse, has also shared how her line of work will come in pretty handy when their newborn arrives in November…
She admitted her job “definitely has shown me the ropes a little bit,” Gabi said, “Even just down to changing diapers multiple times in a day, and figuring out how to soothe the baby when they’re upset, for sure has helped.”
