The scuba diver, who dedicates his YouTube channel to finding lost items and helping solve cold cases, has recently found answers to a case from the year 2000.

Jeremy Sides from Exploring with Nug discovered a car while scuba diving in a river in Tennessee, and it contained something shocking

Now, the case began on April 3, 2000, when eighteen-year-old Erin Foster, and seventeen-year-old Jeremy Bechtel left a house party…

They were driving through the small town of Sparta, reportedly on their way home, but disappeared soon after. Leaving many to question what really happened to them.

The car they were driving in was Erin’s 1998 Pontiac Grand Am, and it has never been seen since…

Until a recent break in the case, thanks to Sides.

He became interested in the case after learning that the teens had gone missing without a trace…

And decided to use his equipment to search the surrounding waterways near where they had disappeared.

Local sheriff, Steve Page, caught wind of the YouTubers appearance in town…

And the pair sent messages back and forth about the case and all the information they had on where Erin and Jeremy were last seen.

He also revealed to the scuba diver that last year they found out investigators might not have been searching in the right place at the time.

After arriving in Tennessee from Georgia, Sides set up his sonar-equipped raft, which he used to scan the rivers around the town.

And after a whole day of searching, he made the discovery of a lifetime…

The 1998 Pontiac Grand Am was found at the bottom of the Calfkiller River and contained something even more shocking…

Human remains.

Although the identities of those found inside the car have yet to be confirmed…

The license plate of the car is said to match that of the car that the teens were driving in on that tragic night.

Sides says in his YouTube video: “I’m lost for words. I’m so glad I could find them.”

Adding: “I’m so sad that that’s where they ended up. I can’t believe it’s been over 20 years they’ve been sitting there waiting for someone to find them.”

Sides can be seen calling the Sherif shortly after making the discovery, who replies: “You know how big this is? …Brother, this is the case of a lifetime for me and you.”

Sheriff Page later told NewsChannel5 Nashville: “I prayed for this. I asked God to help me find these teens. To give closure to help this family finally be able to put this to rest and I think we’re going to be able to do that.”

Our thoughts are with the families of Erin Foster and Jeremy Bechtel.
