Second Woman Killed In Shark Attack Off Red Sea Coast

A woman has been killed in a shark attack off the coast of Egypt just hours after the body of another woman was found who had succumbed to the same fate.

Two women have been killed off the Egyptian coast.

The first body found was that of a 68-year-old Austrian who had been killed in a shark attack.

Just a few hours later, the body of a Romanian woman in her late forties, was found also.

The unnamed Romanian woman had been killed in a separate shark attack just 600 meters from where the first woman’s body was found.

The Governor of the Red Sea Governorate, Major General Amr Hanafi, has issued an order to suspend all activity in the area surrounding the attacks near the resort of Hurghada.

Every sea activity has been banned including diving, snorkelling, wind surfing, fishing boats, and kite sailing.

Shark attacks were thought to be rare in the area.

However that being said, tourism is only just returning to the area, and some are speculating that sharks in the area may have gotten used to the emptier waters.

The Austrian woman was still alive when she was found. Although she died shortly afterwards after being rushed to hospital.
