It was just recently that Hailey opened up about her medical episode in a video shared on YouTube.

Titled “telling my story,” Hailey began the video by explaining that she wanted to “tell the story in my own words of where I’ve been at healthwise.”

She said that on March 10, she had a “very scary incident” where she was eating breakfast when she felt a “weird sensation” in her arm and her fingertips felt “numb and weird.”

She then found that she “couldn’t speak” when her husband, Justin Bieber asked if she was okay and the “right side of my face started drooping.”

“Immediately, I thought I was having a stroke,” she said.

Hailey said that an ambulance was called and by the time she arrived at the emergency room, she was “back to normal” and was no longer “having any issues with my face or my arm.”

She was then kept in hospital overnight where they did “tons of test” including “blood tests to see if I had a clotting disorder or autoimmune disease.”

It was determined that she had suffered a TIA which is often also known as a mini-stroke.

Her doctors said that the cause could have been down to three things, the first being her starting to take birth control, which she shouldn’t have been on due to suffering migraines, without speaking to her doctor first.

They also said it could be due to recently having Covid-19 or that she had recently been on a long flight in a short amount of time.

After being discharged from the hospital, she visited another doctor who did a transcranial doppler which found that she had a “Grade 5 PFO.”

A PFO is a small opening in the heart which usually closes after birth but for Hailey, she still had that hole…

Hailey then explained that she underwent surgery to close the small hole in her heart and is now recovering “really well, really fast.”

Adding that she is now on blood thinner and aspirin, Hailey said that she is so “grateful” for all the doctors that took care of her.

“If there’s anybody that watches this that has gone through the same thing or something similar, I definitely really empathize with you,” she said. “And I understand how life-altering and scary it is.”

Since then, the twenty-five-year-old has been making headlines…

Particularly as she’s shared numerous videos online of her skincare and makeup tutorials.

Some of which haven’t gone down too well with her many of her 9 million fans on TikTok…

Leading many to slam the star…

One furious Twitter user wrote: “‘The Hailey Bieber brownie glazed lips trend’ YOU MEAN THE SAME LIP COMBO THAT EVERY BROWN GIRL OF ALL VARIETIES OF BROWN HAVE BEEN DOING SINCE BEFORE THE BIRTH OF CHRIST.”

  via Getty Images

“I’m crying because she took a lip combo that black and Latina women have been wearing since the 90s and named it ‘brownie glazed lips’ to make it sound cute lol like if you gonna try to make something trend then at least you could do is give credit from where you got the inspo,” another added.

“The fact that Hailey Bieber just wore brown lip liner and clear gloss and the white girls are going crazy over it… honey, Latinas & Black women been hip but y’all called us ghetto for it… #woc,” a third wrote.

“White ppl calling brown lip liner w clear gloss Hailey Bieber lips or brownie glazed lips… Hailey didn’t do s***!! black and Hispanic women have done this combo way before,” another said.

“‘Hailey’s Brownie glazed lips’ and it’s literally just brown liner + gloss that black and Latina women have been doing for years,” one person commented.

“Not u b****** saying Hailey Bieber ‘brownie glazed lips’ is starting a trend during Hispanic heritage month,” another said.

These comments come after Hailey posted a video showcasing a beauty trend of brown lip liner and clear gloss which she’s labeled “brownie glazed lips.”

People of color called out the star for culturally appropriating the makeup technique by failing to credit the source of inspiration for the look. They were quick to point out that the look has actually been popular with black, brown, and Latina women since the 90s.

By definition, cultural appropriation is when someone adopts something from a culture that doesn’t belong to them…

As per reports, this could be a hairstyle or a way of speaking, a recent example of this is Kim Kardashian, who back in February graced the cover of Vogue, opting for a
high, cone-shaped bun decorated with pearls – she was then accused of appropriating black culture.

Hailey was further accused of appropriation when she branded the technique “brownie glazed lips” to help sell her products…

This clearly didn’t sit well with many who said she was partly profiting off a trend created by women of color.

One social media user wrote: “Seeing Hailey Bieber get created for the ‘clean girl aesthetic’ & ‘brownie glazed lips’ is so exhausting like black and brown women BEEN THE BLUEPRINT but once a rich yt woman does something it’s balls off the walls.”

While another added: “White girls on TikTok wearing hoop earrings and slicked bun and calling it ‘clean girl aesthetic’ like that look hasn’t been a staple for Black and Latina women???”

Since then, Hailey has opened up about her personal life like never before…

A teaser for an upcoming episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast released on Tuesday showed Hailey asking host Alex Cooper if her relationship with Justin Bieber ever overlapped his and Selena Gomez’s.

“Your husband was in a very public relationship. People were obsessed with [Justin and Selena] being together. Were you ever with Justin romantically at the same time as her?” asked Alex.

Hailey left no stone unturned this time, as she confronted the question sternly.

“This is so crazy. I’ve literally never talked about this ever. A lot of the hate and perpetuation comes from like, ‘Oh, you stole him.’ It’s about people knowing the truth because there’s a truth,” Hailey replied.

While the fifty-five-second video teaser included footage of the Biebers at the 2021 Met Gala where a crowd shouted “Se-le-na! Se-le-na!,” Alex then asked Hailey if being married to Justin impacted her identity.

“How has being married to someone with that level of fame impacted your identity?” she asked Hailey.

To which she replied: “Where do I start?”

But that’s not all…

The model also discussed her relationship with Justin’s ex Selena and shared that although the Wizards of Waverly Place alum never publicly defended her from the hate there are no hard feelings…

“I respect her a lot. There’s just no expectations. If that was something she felt was necessary, that would be amazing. But I just respect her, there’s no drama, personally,” Hailey said.

And recently, Selena shared an important message with her followers…

And it’s clearly the approach we think everyone should take… did someone say kindness?

In a TikTok Live video, the star shared that she has recently heard people make “vile and disgusting” comments about the model and Justin Bieber since the podcast’s release.

  via Shutterstock

“I think some of the things that I don’t even need to be aware of are just vile and disgusting, and it’s not fair, and no one, ever, should be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen,” she said.

According to E News!, Selena called it “ironic” that some have chosen to support her Rare Beauty line and Rare Impact Fund but ignore its message of spreading goodwill.

Selena stressed the importance of being kind to each other, and said: “That’s exactly what I want.”

And added: “If you support Rare, I cannot thank you enough, but know that you are also representing what it means—and that is: Words matter. Truly matter.”
