Selena Gomez has been at the center of the recent Hailey Bieber and Taylor Swift drama.
It comes after Bieber threw some serious shade at Swift in some recently resurfaced footage.
Read on to see what Gomez had to say on the matter.
Selena Gomez began her acting career in 2002 as a child on the PBS children’s TV series Barney & Friends back in 2002.
Gomez subsequently flourished as a young Disney channel star, leading productions such as Wizards of Waverley Place and Princess Protection Program.
And since then, the actress went on to make a name for herself away from children’s entertainment.
Notable roles of hers include Spring Breakers, and more recently the TV series Only Murders in the Building.
The actress-turned-singer began bagging heaps of popularity and in 2017 Gomez sold over 7 million albums and twenty-two million singles worldwide.
Then in 2020, Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world, proving she’s unstoppable in every way.
The ‘Hands to Myself’ singer is known for sharing her life over on TikTok.
Obviously, her forty-three million fans appreciated it and in no time lots of comments started pouring in…
“U don’t realize how much this video helps us, young women. Thank you!!” wrote one fan.
“You make me feel comfortable in my own skin,” said another.
“I never follow celebrities on TT because I don’t want to mess up my algorithm lol. You have been my only exception to that,” a third wrote.
And the comments didn’t stop just there…
“You’re probably the best role model tbh, ily Selena,” added another fan.
So what did Gomez post to get these lovely comments?
According to Buzzfeed, the singer was lying on a boat in a bathing suit.
While she mimed the words to the popular sound on the app about “real stomachs.”
In the video, Gomez reacts to a voice saying: “Suck it in.”
And mimes: “I’m not sucking sh*t in.”
“Real stomachs is coming the f*** back, OK?” she mimes, patting her stomach.
No wonder she’s known as the Queen of Authenticity… You can watch the video for yourself here.
She’s taken that authenticity to another level with her new documentary.
In which she bared it all!
In the trailer for Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, the actress opened up about her life and struggles.
Tearfully admitting she’s “grateful to be alive.”
At the start, she can be heard saying: “Just be who you are Selena…
“No cares about what you’re doing. It’s about who I am, being okay with where I am. I am grateful to be alive.”
The synopsis reads: “After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom.
“But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness. This uniquely raw and intimate documentary spans her 6-year journey into a new light.”
“Let me make a promise: I am going to stop living like this,” Selena says in the trailer. “How do I learn how to breathe my own breath again?”
The star has been open about her struggles with Lupus as well as anxiety and depression, but it seems she will be venturing deeper into this for the documentary.
She explains: “My whole life, since I was kid, I’ve been working. I don’t wanna be like, super famous, but I do know that if I’m here, I have to use that for good.”
Gomez also opened up in her cover story for Rolling Stone.
The star spoke candidly about her experience with bipolar disorder.
“I think when I started hitting my early twenties is when it started to get really dark,” she said.
“I started to feel like I was not in control of what I was feeling, whether that was really great or really bad,” she continued.
During manic episodes, she would spend recklessly and gift cards to her friends and family, but her depressive episodes left her unable to leave her bed.
Gomez even confessed: “I thought the world would be better if I wasn’t there.”
During her Rolling Stone interview, Gomez also discussed how her bipolar medication has affected her.
She revealed that it means she is unlikely to be able to carry her own children, as they can pose an increased risk of birth defects.
“That’s a very big, big, present thing in my life,” she shared.
The thirty-year-old revealed that this difficult fact really hit home for her after she visited a friend’s home who was trying to get pregnant.
Selena said that after this visit, she got into her car and broke down.
Yet, the interviewer noted that the star hadn’t given up completely.
“However I’m meant to have them, I will,” she shared.
In the same interview, though, Selena put her foot in her mouth.
And left a seriously bad taste in her kidney donor, Francia Raisa’s mouth…
“I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities,” Selena explained.
She continued: “My only friend in the industry is Taylor [Swift].”
This text was shared over an image on E! News’ Instagram.
Francia (Selena’s apparent pal and one-time kidney donor) left a now-deleted comment on the post.
“Interesting,” she wrote.
Francia also reportedly unfollowed Selena on Instagram!
Some think the comment by Selena was a cruel snub…
While others believe since Francia isn’t in “the industry,” she shouldn’t be upset.
Not only that…
But fans were also quick to note she didn’t mention Francia in her new documentary My Mind and Me.
Since then, users on social media have been dissecting the drama between the 2.
One, in particular, was a TikTok user who broke down the supposed drama, including Francia not following Selena anymore.
Selena then commented on the TikTok, writing: “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”
You can see the post that caused the drama here.
But this week, Selena has been involved in another drama.
This time, it was all because of Hailey Bieber and Taylor Swift.
In some recently resurfaced footage from TikTok.
In the video, Bieber makes a gagging face on stage when Swift’s name is mentioned.
Selena then hit out, calling Bieber a “mean girl.”
She then sprung to Swift’s defense.
Selena commented on the TikTok: “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”
What do you think of the drama?
