Serena Williams is sharing one of the ways she’s utilized her leftover breast milk.

Serena Williams is one of the greatest athletes in the world.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time, she was ranked world No. 1 in singles by the Women’s Tennis Association for 319 weeks, including a joint-record 186 consecutive weeks, and finished as the year-end No. 1 five times.

She won 23 Grand Slam women’s singles titles, the most in the Open Era, and the second-most of all time.

Williams is also the only player to accomplish a career Golden Slam in both singles and doubles.

In August 2022, the mother of two announced her retirement from tennis, admitting that having to choose between her career and her family was a decision she didn’t want to make.

“Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family,” she wrote while announcing her retirement in Vogue. “I don’t think it’s fair.”

She continued, “If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I’d be out there playing and winning while my wife was doing the physical labor of expanding our family.”

Serena went on to write: “A lot of people don’t realize that I was two months pregnant when I won the Australian Open in 2017. But I’m turning 41 this month, and something’s got to give.”

Now, more than a year later, Williams is clearly enjoying her family life post-retirement, raising her daughters Olympia, 6, and 4-month-old Adira with her husband, Alexis Ohanian.

She’s enjoying her life as a mother so much, that she’s even found different ways to utilize her breast milk as she nurses baby Adira.

On Sunday, Dec. 3, Serena posted a TikTok video explaining how she’s been using her leftover breast milk to help treat the sunburn on her face.

“So I completely got burned under my eye,” the 23-time Grand Slam winner said in the beginning of her video.

“Don’t ask,” she said of her “sensitive skin,” adding, “I was in the sun … long story. Anyways, I’m trying some breast milk.”

Serena continued, “It works for my kid — they say put breast milk on everything and I have a lot extra, so I’m gonna try it for a week or so under my eye and see how it goes.”

“I mean, it already feels better, because — it hurts!” Williams said of her burn. “All right, I’ll let you guys know how it goes.”

In the caption, the sports legend wrote, “OK is this totally weird??? I have to say after a week of using MY breast milk under my eye — it worked! I’m dying to hear your thoughts.”

Fans were quick to defend Williams’ discovery in the comments, with some even saying they did the same thing with their breast milk as much as 40 years ago.

“Yes ma’am. 40 years ago I used it as a facial when bathing,” one of her followers wrote in the comments. “Miracle milk.”

Another wrote, “my grandma says it work[s]. You should make face soap with your breast milk to help.”

Over the years, Serena has been open about showing the less glamorous sides of motherhood.

Just last month, Williams posted a behind-the-scenes video of her real-life parenting world while in the black sequin gown she wore to the 2023 CFDA Awards.

After showing the athlete in her beautiful dress, the camera then switched to an image of her pumping breast milk as she let out a big sigh.

“What my life is really like … It’s not as glamorous as you think,” Williams wrote in her caption.

Serena and her husband Alexis welcomed their second child together in August, sharing a photo of their baby girl on Instagram following her birth.

“Welcome, Adira River Ohanian,” the Reddit co-founder wrote, introducing the newborn.

“I’m grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful,” he continued.

He also shouted out his wife, calling her the Greatest Mother Of All Time.

“@serenawilliams, you’ve now given me another incomparable gift,” Ohanian wrote. “You’re the GMOAT.”
