Buying a house is an accomplishment that everyone looks forward to in life. Maybe you want to have your own space to raise children or maybe you just want to get away from your overbearing parents. Whatever your motivation, owning your own home is something to be proud of.

And that’s exactly what these seven friends have done.

What started off as a little joke a decade ago has now become a reality for this group. And you’ll never believe the before and after pictures! Keep scrolling to catch a glimpse of their ideal home.

If you’re close with your pals, you probably have a bucket list that you’re checking off as we speak.

There’s a couple of things that I’d do with my best friends…

Like go on vacation with them or let them crash at my place for a couple of months. Never once, though, have I ever thought: “Hey, let’s buy a house together.”

They have been inseparable since they met at work. And now they are going to cement their friendship for the rest of their lives.

What started off as a joke in 2008 has now become a reality. They decided that they wanted to grow old together in their dream house when they were done with their careers.

So do I!

It would be lovely to make breakfast together every morning…

But if there’s anything that we can learn from all of this, it’s that it is possible.

The group stumbled across a beautiful property tucked away in the suburbs of Guangzhou in the south-eastern Guangdong province in China.

The house is 7,535-square-foot and is located away from Guangzhou’s city center, in a village. It seems as if the women have grown tired of the city life and have opted to retire in a quieter setting. And this was their choice. There was just something about the red-bricked property that immediately lured the girls to it.

The mansion has since been renovated so that it accurately reflects what the girls have always imagined being their dream home. Following a 4 million yuan ($581,674) refurbishment, this stunning three-story mansion is now ready to move into.

The large glass windows let constant light into the building and there’s an open-plan kitchen, a quirky, little tea room, and, of course, a swimming pool.

Surrounded by paddy fields and greenery, the mansion has been intricately designed by the girls; there are Tatami mats for gatherings, a long dining table for group meals, and furniture that they’ve all collected from countries such as India and Morocco.

Since there are seven girls, it was crucial that their home was spacious. They didn’t want to be constantly invading each other’s personal space, so they made sure that they all got their own rooms in case they ever needed to retreat.

Each friend has made sure they that have specialized in an area that would benefit all of them when they moved in together.

These girls have got it covered.

The girls’ love of tea inspired them to create their own little pavilion in the middle of the field that surrounds their mansion.

They even went as far as to build their own bamboo walkway that connects their tea room to the house, so they don’t have to go trekking across the field to reach it. Adorable, right?

One of the women, Ms. Jin, had this to say: “We’re all independent individuals but we can communicate and rely on each other at the same time.”

“Ten years later our children would have all grown up,” she added. “So we hope we can be together again in 10 years.”

This story has actually got me thinking that I should do the same thing. Brb just going to a quiet place with my friends and live that nice relaxed life that I’ve always wanted. Maybe in thirty years…
