This is extremely unusual behavior as the Special Olympics Games officially began just a day before they went missing.

A representative for the group told People that the 6 missing men consist of “one Special Olympics athlete, one coach, and four Unified partners, all of whom are adults.”

People have also commented on what they think has happened to the athletes, with many writing that they might be trying to seek asylum here in the U.S.

One Facebook user wrote: “There is another report that they may be trying to seek asylum. It’s best the police don’t find them until they are able to get their asylum papers in order. Wishing them the best of luck!”

However, that is just speculation and hasn’t been confirmed.
