It has been confirmed that NFL star Aaron Rodgers and actress Shailene Woodley are engaged.

The announcement was made in quite an unconventional way. Here's the full story...

The NFL star initially announced his engagement in a pretty incredible way ...

Following the Super Bowl, he used his speech to break the news.

He opened up to the world.

And he made the revelation while accepting the 2020 Most Valuable Player award...

He was rumored to be dating Woodley just days before.

Numerous publishers across the globe reported on rumors Rodgers was dating actress, Shailene Woodley. However, Rodgers didn't name Woodley when he announced his engagement.

Instead, he said:

"2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing, memorable moments.
One hundred-eighty straight days of having my nose hair scraped, a plan for very little fans or no stands the entire season, I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career.

"So I'd like to thank, first and foremost, my teammates for their support, their inspiration, protection, incredible play on the field.

"The coaching staff for their efforts to make this thing fun every single week. The energy and positivity in the daily presentations really kept us going."

"Yes, we are engaged," Woodley confirmed.

"But for us, it's not new news, you know? So it's kind of funny. Everybody right now is freaking out over it and we're like, 'Yeah, we've been engaged for a while.'"

"I never thought I'd be engaged with somebody who threw balls for a living."

""Like, I never thought as a little girl, I was like, 'Yeah, when I grow up, I'm gonna marry someone who throws balls! Yeah!' But he's really just so good at it."
