Shakira’s new song appears to shade her ex-husband in the wake of her split from Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué.
The Colombian singer was with Piqué for over eleven years.

But Shakira has faced some pretty damaging accusations.
She has been involved in tax fraud…
And Spanish prosecutors want Shakira to face more than 8 years in prison for it.
Prosecutors said that if a jury convicts the singer for bilking the government out of $15 million in taxes, they’ll ask the judge to be tough on her.
Shakira is being prosecuted for the tax fraud allegations.
She’s being accused of paying too little in taxes between 2012 and 2014 during which time she spent more than half the year in Spain.
A rep for Shakira explained: “Shakira has always cooperated and abided by the law, demonstrating impeccable conduct as an individual and a taxpayer.
“And faithfully following the counsel of PriceWaterhouse Coopers, a prestigious and globally recognized tax firm.”
They added: “Unfortunately, the Spanish Tax Office, which loses one out of every two lawsuits with its taxpayers, continues to violate her rights and pursue yet another baseless case.
“Shakira is confident that her innocence will be proven by the end of the judicial process.”
While Shakira and her team demand her innocence, the authorities are out for blood.
Not only do they want Shakira to do prison time, they also want Shakira to pay $15 million in unpaid taxes and another $24 million in fines.
Fans were shocked by the news, with many taking to social media to share their thoughts on the situation…
“That’s messed up!” one Facebook user wrote.
While a Twitter user joked: “They should question her hips, as they know the info is legit.”
A third quipped: “The authorities ordered a trial after not being impressed with Shakira’s response of ‘whenever, wherever’ when asked when she was planning on paying what was due.”
The courts decided that Shakira will stand trial for the alleged tax evasion.
People who spend more than 183 days in Spain are classed as a citizen for tax purposes, and tax inspectors did a deep dive into Shakira’s living arrangements in the years she allegedly dodged tax.
According to their calculations, Shakira spent 242 days in Spain in 2012, 212 days in 2013, and 243 days in 2014.
But all of this financial drama comes at the same time as some personal drama for the star…
Earlier this year, Shakira and her partner of eleven years, Gerard Piqué, announced they were splitting up.
They shared a joint statement.
It reads: “We regret to confirm that we are separating.
“We ask for privacy at this moment for the well-being of our children, who are our maximum priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding and respect.”
The star recently shared a disturbing video on her socials.
As per Perez Hilton, the caption translates to: “I never said anything, but it hurt me. I knew this would happen.”
The disturbing video has got fans all riled up.
Because they believe it seems to be the start of a new musical era for the star.
One commented: “BREAKUP ALBUM OF THE MILLENNIUM.”
Another said: “Anyone [notice the] detail in the background? I think that’s her trying to grab the heart before it gets stepped on!”

And it appears she has gone on to shade her ex-husband in her latest song, which features the disturbing clip in her music video.
The singer starts off singing in Spanish, which translates to: “It wasn’t your fault, nor was it mine. It was monotony’s fault. I never said anything but it hurt me. I knew this would happen.”
Seemingly explaining more about how the relationship ended, she goes on: “It’s a necessary goodbye. What used to be incredible became routine.”
Adding: “Your lips don’t taste of anything to me. Now it’s the complete opposite.”
Throwing shade at Piqué, she says: “You left me because of your narcissism. You forgot what you used to be. Distant with your attitude, and that filled me with worry. You didn’t give even half. I know I gave more than you.”
The lyrics, along with the video, seem to allude to the heartache she’s experienced during her separation from Piqué.
At the end of the music video, Shakira locks her heart away in a safe while singing:
“Don’t repeat the movie again, I’ve already watched it. I love you but I love myself more.”
