While Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian’s clan might look like one, big, happy blended family, that doesn’t seem to be the case for everyone involved.
Shanna Moakler and Travis Barker have had their issues over the years–especially once the latter started dating Kourtney Kardashian.
While the former Playboy Playmate and the Blink-182 drummer divorced in 2008, Moakler was still very vocal about his relationship with Kardashian, which began in 2021.
Among the allegations made by Shanna was that Barker was actually in love with Kourtney’s sister, Kim Kardashian, something many fans think messed with Kourtney.
Regardless of their relationship ending more than a decade ago, Shanna and Travis share kids Atiana, 24, Landon, 20, and Alabama, 18.Â
Because they continue to co-parent, they will always be in each other’s lives–but that doesn’t mean Moakler will start holding her tongue.
During a preview of her appearance on the Dumb Blonde podcast posted by host Bunnie XO, Shanna opened up about her ex’s new relationship.
According to the former pageant queen, Barker tried to one-up her as a parent once he got into his new relationship.
Shanna accuses Travis of “parental alienation”…
“When Travis got with Kourtney, there was some parental alienation going on there,” she says in the clip.
“Where Travis—even when we weren’t together—always wanted to be the ‘super dad,'” Moakler continued.
“‘I’m the best parent. I’m the this and that,'” she said of Barker’s attitude surrounding parenting. “And I’m like, ‘Bro, you win.'”
Shanna—who shares Atiana with ex Oscar De La Hoya and her two youngest with Travis—felt like her kids “got caught up” in the Kardashians’ glamorous lifestyle.
“I think there was a lot of glitter and fame and they watched them on TV and now their dad is dating one and they’re going to be on the show,” she explained.
Buying their love
Shanna went on to say that Kardashian and Barker were doing things for her kids that she simply couldn’t compete with.
“They’re buying them Prada, and they’re buying them gifts, and they’re going to these events and they’re meeting Kanye [West] and all this big stuff,” she recalled.
“I can’t give them that,” the 48-year-old admitted. “I don’t have the money to do that. I can’t buy you guys Prada every other week and stuff.”
“My house isn’t a mansion like Travis,” she continued. “I don’t have a movie theater. I don’t have golf carts for you kids to drive.”
In response to this inequality in their parenting styles, Moakler decided to take a step back.
Shanna’s tough decision
“I removed myself so that they couldn’t bond over my children hating me,” she shared on the podcast.
She went on to explainn that she told her kids to “go do what you guys need to do and when you’re ready, I will be here loving you unconditionally.”
“I’ve had conversations with them since,” the model added, revealing that her children have since apologized for being “influenced” by the glitz and glamour.Â
“We all know the truth,” Moakler insisted. “I go to bed at night and I sleep very, very well.”
Since the aforementioned tension, Shanna and the rest of the family have begun to repair their fractured relationship.
Back in July, her son, Landon, even introduced his mom to his girlfriend, Charli D’Amelio.
“@charlidamelio was so nice meeting you in person,” Shanna captioned a photo of the three of them backstage at a Blink-182 concert. “You’re so beautiful.”
Just last month, Shanna wrote a sweet tribute to her “beautiful daughter” Alabama in honor of her 18th birthday.
“Our time together means everything to me,” she wrote in an Instagram post on December 24. “Being your mom is one of my greatest joys.”
In response, Alabama replied back in the comments section, writing, “I love you so much.”
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have yet to comment on Shanna Moakler’s latest comments about their relationship.
They’ve kept quiet regarding her statements in the past, so it’s not likely the couple will speak out this time around.
