American actress Robyn Griggs has sadly passed away.
Griggs was just forty-nine years old.
The heartbreaking news has come as a shock to everyone…
In April 1991, Griggs took on the role of Stephanie Hobart in One Life to Live and was featured on the famed TV series for 6 episodes.
The actress then landed the role of Maggie Cory in Another World, in which she starred in for 2 years and later appeared in several other shows including Severe Injuries (2003), Dead Clowns (2004), The Absence of Light (2006), and Hellweek (2010).
Griggs previously opened up about her diagnosis with cervical cancer in 2020…
But it was only last month that she shared she had 4 new tumors.
And then on August 11, Griggs’ father announced that she was entering hospice care.
“She has fought with determination, strength, and grace that is nothing short of inspirational,” he wrote.
Entertainment Tonight confirmed the devastating news of Griggs’ passing after a post on the actress’ Facebook page went viral.
“With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn’s passing. However, she is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories,” read the statement.
Going on to pay tribute to the late star, the statement continued to praise Grigg’s passion throughout her life: “I will never forget how open she was to telling her story, and accepting of me helping her tell it. She wanted to help people and spread the word of her story to do it. I was honored to do so.”
Rest in peace, Robyn Griggs.
