James MacDougall, 37, hid the vital information from a whole host of couples.
He advertised his services privately through social media.
And fathered the children of several lesbian couples without revealing he had Fragile X syndrome, a genetic disorder that leads to low IQ and developmental delay.
MacDougall had promised to remain anonymous, but he decided he wanted access to his children, which is how this whole story came to light.
Derby Court Judge Justice Nathalie Lieven denied his applications for access, plus revealed his name to prevent the chances of MacDougall becoming a future sperm donor again.
The courtroom heard from one anonymous victim who shared her horrifying story.
Her 3-year-old child is nonverbal and has “challenging behavior” due to MacDougall’s Fragile X.
She also shared stories of attempted assaults and inappropriate s*xual comments by MacDougall.
The woman has also said that the ordeal has caused her physical and emotional distress.
“There is a very specific benefit in his being named in the hope that women will look him up on the internet and see this judgment,” the judge said, as per the New York Post.
“The usual approach of anonymity in the family courts should not be used as a way for parents to behave in an unacceptable manner and then hide behind the cloak of anonymity.”
