Everyone knows rap legend DMX suffered a reported overdose last year.
And this came as a blow to the entertainment industry.
DMX was one of the most influential rappers of all time.
Born in 1970, DMX began releasing his first tunes in the early 90s.
He released his best-selling album, And Then There Was X, in 1999.
Which included the hit song, ‘Party Up (Up in Here)’.
Since he debuted, DMX released 7 studio albums.
And cemented himself into the hip-hop hall of fame forever.
The rapper also appeared in numerous films.
Including action thrillers, Romeo Must Die (2000), Exit Wounds (2001), and Cradle 2 the Grave (2003).
But DMX endured various battles throughout his life.
Many of which were personal battles for substance abuse.
He reportedly went to rehab many times.
His last stint was back in 2019…
After that, he made a powerful return to the stage.
Where he told his fans: “When you fall down, get back up, everyone here has been through some s**t and you never know what God is willing to do for you until you need him to do something for you.”
Then fans witnessed their favorite rap star suffer from substance abuse.
According to reports back then, DMX suffered from a suspected overdose and was in a grave condition…
Since the horrific news emerged, prayers and well wishes started pouring in for the hip-hop legend.
The alleged overdose occurred on April 2, 2021, and as per reports, the overdose took place at around 11 pm.
According to TMZ, the overdose triggered a heart attack.
He was rushed to a hospital in White Plains, New York.
TMZ claimed that the rapper had “some brain activity.”
Other sources said that he was in a vegetative state.
Most news outlets claimed the prognosis did not look good.
And sadly, the rapper died on April 9, 2021, following a c*****e-induced heart attack.
And now, actress Stacey Dash shared an emotional response when she recently learned that DMX is no longer with us.
Some have taken to the comment section of Dash’s Instagram post to criticize her reaction, while others defended her.
“Leave her alone. She has been very open about her pill addiction. Clearly, she’s triggered by something and dealing with stuff. We love Stacey,” wrote one user.
While another commented: “You’re inspiring me to continue trying to be fully sober fyi. No pressure literally but saying so because thank you for uplifting others by uplifting yourself.”
Last October, the actress opened up fully about her drug addiction and told Dr. Oz that she first tried drugs when she was only 8 and 16 years old.
Dash also confessed her mother was also addicted to drugs and gave her her first line of c*****e. She then went ahead and said she was taking eighteen to twenty pills a day at one point, and no one knew.
It was only later on when Dash celebrated five years of sobriety that people found out she had waved goodbye to drugs forever…
“I’m clean, five years. And in this five years, my blessing the greatest blessing—is that not only have I been able to be honest with myself and become a better person, I’ve been able to understand my parents and that they did love me and that they were doing the best they could and they were just sick. They were addicted,” she said back in October 2021.
The Clueless actress uploaded a video of herself speaking about DMX’s death.
And even broke down in tears after finding out that the rapper had passed away last year from a c*****e-induced heart attack.
In the clip, the actress tells her followers that she’s “ashamed” that she is just now finding out about DMX’s death.
Admitting: “I didn’t know DMX died. I didn’t know from a c*****e overdose.”
“I am today, six years and one month clean and it breaks my heart. It breaks my heart that he lost to it. He lost. He lost to that demon of addiction. Please, please don’t lose,” she continued.
“I was strolling through #tiktok and found a #DMX song that has saved me many times,” she said.
“Suddenly it says #RIP i know I am late, i did not know he passed away, he #OD I am heartbroken – he was such a great guy,” Dash added.
