First things first: Why do Miss Universe keep hiring Steve Harvey as the host?!

Miss Universe 2019 took place in Atlanta, Georgia this year, with Steve Harvey as host yet again. I get it, he's funny, sometimes... But after his magnificent blunder in 2015 left the whole world absolutely gobsmacked, you would think someone would have started casting for another host.

But no, Miss Universe clearly loves repeating history.

Even though he's managed to get through the process for the last 3 years, who could ever forget that horrible day back in 2015?

It was in all the headlines, all the papers...

And has now cemented itself as one of the greatest and most unfortunate moments in television history.

It was Miss Colombia vs Miss Philippines...

He announced the winner with so much confidence and then as the applause died out, the dread kicked in as he said: "Guys, I have to apologize..."

Cue the long and awkward pause...

It felt like it lasted forever before he continued addressing everyone: "The first runner up is Colombia."

Yikes and double yikes...

The whole audience can be seen murmuring in confusion. Poor Miss Colombia, you can see her trying to swallow her pride and hand the all-important crown over to the real winner.

Even Miss Philippines looked so awkward as she accepted the victory.

But hey, like a true queen, her smile didn't falter.

"Miss Philippines, take your first walk as Miss Universe."

You can just see Miss Colombia in the back getting a nice ol' pep-talk from the other ladies, but nothing will make this any better, to be honest.

And in true Steve Harvey fashion, it's happened again!

Those ghosts from 2015 are back to haunt the host.

Things seemed to be going well during the 2019 Miss Universe pageant...

The contest was running smoothly and Harvey's jokes were generally met with a positive reaction.

Except for this one...

I mean, if you're making risky jokes, they have to be tasteful, right? You can't make a racist or stereotypical joke and think you can get away with it... Even if you are Steve Harvey.

However, as usual, Steve didn't get the memo...

When he announced that Miss Colombiam Gabriela Tafur Náder, had made it into the top twenty, she made a light-hearted joke about his previous blunder, saying: "Are you sure? Should I go back?"

Harvey came back with a "joke" that left a bitter taste in everyone's mouths...

"Yes, look," he said, spelling out Colombia. When Náder told Harvey that her country had forgiven his mistake, he said: "The cartel hasn't forgiven me."

Viewers took to social media to express their disgust.

This user thinks Steve Harvey is the "worst host ever."

"Just a side note..."

It was just taking things too far, to be honest.

It's safe to say things weren't going well for Harvey by this point.

But things got worse because he went onto announce the winner of the costume round incorrectly.

That's right, apparently, Miss Malaysia was supposed to get the gold...

"Earlier this week, all the contestants competed in a National Costume contest. Here’s the look at the winner, Miss Philippines," he said during this year’s contest in Atlanta. But Harvey said that Miss Philippines had won. According to the video, which you can see at the bottom, she grabbed the mic out of his hand and corrected him herself.

Harvey, clearly embarrassed by yet another miscommunication error explained himself...

"Let me explain something to you. I just read that in the teleprompter. Ya’ll got to quit doing this to me. I can read," he said.

"Now, they are trying to fix it now. See?"

He pointed at the teleprompter. "This is what they did to me back in 2015 - played me short like that."

I think, by now, you're playing yourself, Harvey.

Thankfully the overall winner of the contest, Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi, was announced correctly. However, it's time to give up the gig. I vouch that we get Terry Crews to do the job or maybe even Jason Momoa? I'm up for that!
