Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, was just twelve, Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin, and Caleb McLaughlin, who plays Lucas were fourteen, and Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, was thirteen.

There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding how the actors are treated, including Millie Bobby Brown, who has in the past vented her frustration with being sexualized. But, this time, when Finn Wolfhard’s name was sexualized, Joe Keery, who was twenty-four when he first appeared in the series, defended him.

Patton Oswalt was commentating the event, and when Finn, who was fourteen at the time, said “dude, stop,” Joe was seen giving heartwarming words of reassurance.
