It’s safe to say the season 3 finale had us all asking questions. But at the end of the final episode, we saw the Byers family move out of Hawkins (can you blame
them?), along with Eleven, who Joyce took in following Hopper’s heartbreaking ‘death.’

But, just as we wiped our tears away, they played a scene during the credits that completely threw a spanner in the works…

And left us all with even more questions that desperately needed answering.

And thankfully, the first instalment of the fourth season did exactly that, and then some!

But we all were hanging on the edge of our seats for the next part. Are our favorite characters safe, will eleven be able to defeat Vecna, and will we get to see Steve Harrington’s magnificent chest hair a second time?

The producer, Shawn Levy, previously shared that the latest season is set to impress as they’ve been even more “ambitious” with the script this time around…

“I’ll just say that we are long-delayed, and the Duffers and I want to share Season 4 with the world as badly as the world wants it,” Levy told The Hollywood Reporter.

“Part of what’s taking time is long before Covid and the pandemic existed, Season 4 was built to be by far the most ambitious, cinematic, sprawling, and epic season that we’ve ever done.

“By not just a little — by a lot. So the complexity of Season 4, even before we had the obstacles, hurdles, and challenges of a pandemic, is taking a lot of time because it is super worth the wait.”

And volume 2, has already become “exciting and scary…”

As we’ve already said our goodbyes to some beloved characters – the ones who we have noticed.

But as we wipe away our tears, let’s take a deep dive into the cast, and how they’ve evolved from the start of the 1st season, which premiered back in 2016.

When the stars started out in the show, they were all just entering their teens, matching up pretty well with their characters’ ages. But now, they’re aged 17-20, while still playing fourteen-year-olds.

And fans have been pretty vocal about this fact on social media…

One Twitter user wrote: “Stranger Things is officially at the point where I cannot tell any of the kid characters’ ages. They all look 16 and/or 26, depending on the shot.”

Another wrote: “These kids in stranger things so old they got crows feet now.”

“Yo the Stranger Things kids be looking old lmao,” a third echoed.

Currently, Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) is 18, Noah Schnapp (Will Byers) is 17, Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) is 19, Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Charles Sinclair) is 20, Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield) is 20, and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson) is 19.

As for the older members of the group, Natalia Dyer is 25, but Nancy Wheeler is 18. Jonathan Byers, played by Charlie Heaton is roughly the same age despite being 28 in real life. And Joe Keery turned 30 in April, however, Steve Harrington is just 19. Then there’s Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, who is 30, playing a 20-year-old.

Speaking about the characters’ age differences, the cast gave an interview with Today, Matarazzo (Dustin) said: “It’s something we’re always thinking about, but it’s something we work with pretty well I think.

“The characters are at transitional periods in their lives… it’s crazy to see what all of us looked like when we first started.”

Schnapp (Will Byers) added: “I remember in season two they told me you need to lower the pitch of your voice, you have to speak at a different level and stand shorter, I was like, ‘I can’t do that, I’m not like that anymore.'”

The second volume came out on July 1.

And now, it seems fans missed out on a major death in the finale…

While we expected to see some characters dying, fans were left completely shocked when they heard Jason’s character was actually killed in the finale.

Yes it’s true… It was only when fans saw him last fighting Lucas in the Creel home that they noticed he had been killed.

Fans didn’t expect Jason’s character to fall prey to Vecna’s evil actions, but they missed it!

“DID I MISS SOMETHING?? WHEN THE HELL DID JASON DIE?” said one Netflix user.

While another fan wrote: “Wait when did Jason die ???????? How did I miss that.”

Unfortunately, Jason got “ripped in two” and disintegrated between the gates…

Later, we find out that Jason was one of the Hawkins residents to have gone missing as a result of Vecna’s actions.

It will be interesting to see what the villain has planned for Hawkins, but that will all be revealed in season 5!

Are you excited?
