Summer is finally here!
It’s time for popsicles, beach days, fancy drinks, sunscreen, and BBQs!
It’s basically the best time of the year.
In order to make sure this is the best summer ever, we’ve created a list of some of the best summer-themed lifehacks the Internet has to offer.
So grab a floppy hat, kick off your flip-flops, and get ready to be inspired!
OK, this first one may seem a little gross.
But you have to admit it’d be effective.
Would you ever open what looks like a dirty diaper on the beach? Not a chance, right?
That sweet summer smell.
I’ve always kinda wished I could light some candles in my car and drive around enjoying their scent, but that’s definitely a dangerous idea.
With this hack, you get all the benefits of candles with none of the danger!
DIY outdoor shower:
This is a great way to keep all that beach sand out of your house.
You could also use it to wash your dog outside!
Well, this is officially one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen on the Internet. I don’t want to eat melon any other way now.
This next hack is a must for beach lovers!
Keep the sand away!
Who knew that a fitted sheet and four large-ish items could create a sandless oasis for you at the beach?
I didn’t, but I’m certainly never going to forget it now!
Cutest cooler ever:
Rather than using boring old plain ice in your cooler, you can use frozen water balloons to add some color and whimsy.
If I saw this at a party, I would instantly know I was going to have a great time.
No water sprinkler?
No problem! You can easily make your own by poking holes in a 2-liter bottle and attaching it to your garden hose.
You could even get the kids to make it for you if they’re looking for an activity.
Is there anything PVC pipe can’t do?
I certainly don’t think so. Use some to build a handy storage rack to keep by the pool.
The best part is that it can easily be disassembled for storage until next year.
This. Is. Brilliant.
Everyone knows that applying aloe vera to a sunburn is super soothing and wonderful.
But frozen aloe vera? This is some next-level thinking.
This next hack is a great alternative to water balloon fights!
DIY water bombs:
All you need to make these water bombs is a few sponges and rubber bands.
Cut the sponges into strips and then use the rubber bands to create little clusters.
With these, you can still have a water fight but don’t need to spend forever filling up water balloons.
Kiddie pools aren’t just for kids.
Add some pillows and a couple of blankets and voilà!
You’ve got your very own outdoor lounge area.
My favorite recipe ever:
Cookies and ice cream. What more could you possibly want?
This recipe makes it look super easy to make a sweet summer treat. I’m so in.
Keep the bubble mess at bay!
Everyone knows that handing a child a container full of bubble solution is a recipe for a soapy disaster.
Instead, anchor the containers to a pillar or other solid structure and avoid any spillage.
Need a marshmallow shooter?
Of course, you do. These can be made with a pool noodle, a balloon, and some tape. Don’t forget the marshmallows, obvs.
This next hack is a great use for your old milk jugs!
Make your own water balloon toss game!
Cut the bottoms off old gallon jugs to create these handy water balloon catchers.
Don’t forget to add some tape around the edge for safety (and to protect against premature pops).
A super fun pool activity:
You might already have everything you need to make this fun pool activity in your house right now.
Get creative and shoot the cups across the string as a race, a relay, or a timed event.
No more drips!
This is the second-best use of cupcake liners I’ve ever seen in my life.
The first being, lining actual cupcakes, of course.
And this is the third-best!
Pop a liner on top of your drink to keep bugs away.
Also, it just looks super cute!
Here’s another great outdoor storage solution:
This one has both hooks to hang wet towels and a place to keep your pool toys. Plus, the kids would probably love to paint it as another fun summer activity!
