Brazilian police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of Christiane Louise, a Brazilian voice actor whose roles included Mercy in Overwatch and Cortana in Halo.

Louise, forty-nine, was announced dead on August 6th by Mario Tupinamba Filho, a fellow voice actor, on Instagram. "It is with a bleeding soul that I announce the departure of Christiane Louise. I love you forever, Zinha," read the post.

Louise had been in the movie industry since 1994, working as a sensational voice actor, lending her voice to video gamers like Mercy and Cortana, as well as Bayonetta and League of Legends' Sivir.

The person suspected of Louise's murder is currently in custody and is named Pedro Paulo Goncalves Vasconcellos da Costa, a twenty-seven-year-old man who was arrested on Friday, August 13st by Brazilian homicide detectives.

The reported cause of death was multiple stab wounds.

The lead investigator on the case Leandro Costa told Brazilian newspaper O Globo that Pedro Paulo eventually confessed to the killing, claiming it was in self-defense and that Louise was "possessed by the devil."

Costa has also disclaimed that Pedro Paulo received help from his mother, Eliane Goncalves Vasconcellos da Costa, and another accomplice to hide the body on Grumari Beach, with the mother still being wanted by authorities...

And many of the woman's fans have taken to Twitter to give tribute to the icon, saddened by such a senseless murder.

"As a mercy main I cannot even describe my words. May Master Chief protect you in heaven. Rest in Peace," one person wrote.

"Condolences to her family and friends," another wrote.

"Rest in peace Christiane, you didn't deserve that kind of death, may the valkyries guide you to Valhalla," prayed another.

The star was truly loved by all as someone said: "R.I.P Christiane impacted so many of us from Your days with Disney to Nick to Gaming...This is heartbreaking #rip #ChristianeLouise " Heroes Never Die"."

Reports indicate that Louise was killed by a goblet and sustained cuts on her leg and throat, with the suspect and his mother keeping the body in their home for a couple of days before hiding it together, as per Comicbook.

Louise was found days after she was murdered.

Rest in Peace, Louise.
