Trevor Noah hosted the 2024 Grammys, marking his third consecutive time at the helm of the biggest night in music.

An embarrassing moment…

He started the show by welcoming Meryl Streep (who sat with her daughter, Grace Gummer, and son-in-law, Mark Ronson) to her seat as she entered the ceremony late.

“This moment right here — you know what that means?” Noah said as Streep made her way to her seat. “It means the Grammys is gonna win an Oscar.”

Another star who was late to their seat was Taylor Swift, who Noah also drew the audience’s attention to.

As she made her way across the room, the former Daily Show host talked about recent reports on the singer’s impact on the economy.

“Are you seeing what’s happening right now as Taylor Swift moves through the room?” Noah asked the crowd. “The local economy around those tables improves.”

“Can you see you get this magic right now?”

“Look at this magic,” Noah continued. “Lionel Richie, now Lionel Wealthy. Look at that.”

The comedian also joked about just how often Swift is shown on-camera at NFL games, where she goes to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

He went on to joke that every time the “Lavender Haze” singer is mentioned throughout the night, the cameras will show someone else who plays football, instead.

Pointing out the hypocrisy

“I think it is so unfair how NFL fans have been complaining about the cameras cutting to Taylor Swift? Right?” He said. “Like she’s controlling the cameras at the games.”

Trevor continued, “I’m gonna get revenge. Every time someone says Taylor Swift. I’m going to cut the cameras to someone who plays football,” as the cameras panned to Terry Crews.

Football fans across the nation have been complaining about just how much coverage Taylor Swift’s attendance at NFL games has gotten recently.

The singer has attended multiple games over the past few months to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

As her man heads to the Super Bowl this Sunday, it’s safe to say the coverage is only going to get more intense–that is, if Taylor’s able to make the game.

Taylor’s dilemma…

Obviously, Travis isn’t the only superstar in the relationship, so balancing schedules can be rough.

While Swift has managed to make it to 11 of her boyfriend’s games since the start of their relationship in 2023, she still has her own obligations to consider.

Taylor is currently in the midst of her Eras Tour, the sixth global world tour of her career.

The Super Bowl will be held on Sunday, February 11–just one day after Swift plays a show in Japan.

The singer also has the Australian leg of The Eras Tour just four days after the big game, another location where time zones are completely flipped.

A tough decision

Obviously, if anyone can do it, Taylor can.

The singer owns two private jets, so it’s possible that she jumps right on the plane after her performance in Japan.

A direct flight from Japan to Las Vegas, where the Super Bowl is being held, would take Swift just under 12 hours.

That time in the air is nothing to scoff at, but luckily, time zones are on her side.

Her concert starts at 6pm and should probably finish around 9pm local time in Japan.

With the time difference, she would finish her show at 1am local time the day before the Super Bowl in Vegas.

Another big Easter egg…

In addition to wondering if Taylor will make it to the Super Bowl, fans also couldn’t help but focus on the dress she wore to The Grammys.

Swift showed up to the event wearing a black-and-white outfit, stunning in a floor-length, strapless, white dress featuring a train and a leg slit.

All in the details

One of the accessories Swift wore–a choker with a clock set to Midnight–was a nod to her album Midnights, which she won the Album of the Year award for.

Because Taylor is always sending messages to her fans, a lot of folks believed this ensemble was communicating something.

One theory is that her black-and-white ensemble pays homage to the black-and-white album cover of her 2017 album Reputation, which Swift is expected to re-release soon.

“Maybe she wears a white dress because now she is almost completely pure, she has overcome all of it and she feels ready to face the ‘new’ Reputation,” one fan theorized.

Another theory is that the outfit pays tribute to her new album The Tortured Poets Department, which is set to release on April 19.

Given the fact that she announced the album at The Grammys, it’s safe to say the black and white was a nod to her upcoming era.
